Stanley.
I have served seven years on Council and three
years as Deputy -Reeve, a total of 10 years, and .I feel
I am in a position to render a particular service to the

CONSTRUCTION is well under way on Seaforth sewer program. After initial difficul-
ties with underground springs and quicksand were overcome, good progress has been made
and tile is being Iaid this week along George Street. The picture shows work under way

FUNERALS
DR. MELVIN GRAHAM
Word has recently been re-
ceived of the death of Dr. Mel-
vin Graham, of Ponoka. Alberta.
Born in October 1876, he was a
native of Stanley Township,
where he received his educa-
tion. He taught school for four
years, before entering Toronto
University. After graduating he
went to Alberta, where he prac-
tised for over fifty years. He
had been in failing health for
several months.
He is survived by his wife;
a daughter, Mrs. Milner, of Col-
lin's Bay, Ont.; two sons, Alan,
at home and Dr. John, of Swift
Current., Sask., and a sister,
Mrs. James Broadfoot, of Sea -
forth.
CHARLES JAMES DOLMAGE
Charles James Dolmage died
suddenly in Clinton on Tues-
day, Nov. 26. He was the son
of the late 'Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Dolmage. Mr, Dolmage was
born in McKillop Township,
where he was educated and
spent his life.
in January, 1908, he was mar -
to Agnes Routledge,'' of
Tuckersmith. They farmed on
Concession 9, McKillop, until
1946, when they retired to Win-
throp. He served on McKillop
Council for six years.
In 1958 Mr. and Mrs. Dol -
mage celebrated their golden
wedding. For some time Mr.
Dolmage had been , in poor
health. He was a member of
Cavan Church, Winthrop.
Hg is survived by his wife
and a family of three sons:.
Stewart, Russell and Leslie, of
McKillop, and one daughter,
Muriel, Mrs. Robert E. McLach-
lan ,of Tuckersmith. There are
one brother, Austin, of Win-
throp, and a sister, Edith, Mrs.,
George Fox, of McKillop.
The funeral was from Box
funeral home on Friday at' 2
o'clock. Interment was in Mait-
landbank cemetery. Pallbearers
were Robert Dodds,,�Hiram
Blanchard, Irvin Trewartha,
William Dodds, Theron Betties
and Kenneth Betties,' The flow-
erbearers were six grandsons.

While councils in many Hur-
on municipalities were return-
ed by acclamation, voters cast
ballets in others„ including Zur-
ich, where Reeve Milton Oesch
was returned.
ZURICH
Reeve Milton Oesch was re-
turned to office when he de-
feated LIoyd O'Brien by 62
votes for the post. Five ran
for council, and three of the
1962 council were returned to
office. Herb Turkheim did not
run in this election.

Reeve Stewart Proctor was
returned to' 'office .by acclama-
tion Friday, and the four mem-
bers of his 1962 council were
all returned for another term.

BRUSSELS
When George McCutcheon,
the present reeve and this year's'
warclen of Huron County, de-
cided not to run for office, Cal-
vin Krauter, a 1962 councillor
was elected by acclamation.
For Council — Wm. Straty-
chuck, Jacob Fisher, Orval El-
liott and L. R. Machan. W. A.
Williamson did not qualify.
Lloyd Workman was nomin-
ated for the one position on the
Public Utility Commission.
Ele. ledto the School Board
were It. W. Kennedy, Gordon
Stephenson, • Howard Bernard.
Ivan Campbell did not qualify.
HENSALL
Norman Jones, the present
reeve of Hensall, was returned
by acclamation for another
term at Hensall's nomination
meeting. Elected to council are
John Baker, Harold Knight,
Fred Broadley and John C.
Lavander.
The three school trustees re-
quired were elected -by accla-
mation. They are Howard
Scane, Roy Campbell, Oliver
Jaques, Walter ' Spencer and
Charles Fiford were nominated
for the Public Utility Commis-
sion, the latter qualifying and
elected by acclamation.
CLINTON
In Clint*,all six 1962 coun-
cillors gtia9ified and were re-
turned .by acclamation: They
are: Allan Elliott, Norman Liv-
ermore, George Rumball, Don-
ald E. Symons, • Mrs. F. G.
Thompson and George Wonch.
Two nominees who failed to
qualify were Fred Sloman and
Robert Homuth.
Mayor Wm. Miller, Reeve
Morgan Agnew and Deputy
Reeve .1. A. Sutter were ac-
claimed.
BLYTH
William Morritt, a former
reeve of Blyth, was returned by
acclamation.
Six qualified for four seats
on council for Blyth. Incum-
bents Borden, Cook, Gordon El-
liott, William Manning and
Kelland McVittie became eli-
gible Tuesday as well as nom-
inees Lewis Wliiteld and Alex
Logue. Lorne Scrimgeour and
Douglas Whitmore did not
qualify.
The results: Cook, 237; El-
liott, 219; Manning, 204; Mi;-
Vittie, 163; Whitfield, 121;
Logue, 101.
Five ran for •three seats
on the public school board. Of
eight nominated, Edward Wat•
aon, William ,Germain, Don

Webster qualified. Frank El-
liott and Jim Howson were
nominated to the board, but
did not qualify.

Mayor Eldrid Simmons and
Reeve W. Glen Fisher were
both returned to office by ac-
clamation.
William H. Musser defeated
incumbent Claude M. )'arrow
for the deputy -reeve's seat of
the town of Exeter.

Parents and 'friends were in-
vited to the Brownie enrolment
ceremony held in the basement
of Hensall United Church on
Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 4 p.m.
Brown Owl Mrs. Robert Cook,
assisted by Tawny Owl Mrs.
Jack Drysdale, enrolled the fol-
lowing Tweenies into the First
Hensall Brownie Pack Carmen
Currie, Allison Fiford, Shirley
Smale, Julie Heal, Pauline Al-

District Commissioner Mrs.
Thomas Lavender, assisted by
Tawny Owl, made the follow-
ing presentations: Golden Bars
to Jackie Simmons, Iris Alex-
ander, Sandra Munn and Joyce
Johnston, Beth Cook received
her Golden Hand, Athletes
badges were given to Joyce
Johnston, Dorothy Kipfer, Lin-
da Hay, Mary Mock and Mar-

and Peggy Vanstone. A game,
"The Magic Carpet,” was play-
ed by the Brownies, under the
direction of Sixer Janie Smith.
During Pow Wow, everyone
enjoyed Mrs. Lavender's timely
Christmas story, "The True
Tree of Christmas," specially
written by her for the enrol-
ment. At the close of the pro-
gram, Madam Commissioner
took the salute.
