Phone 141. OBITUARIES MRS. ARTHUR POWELL Mrs. Arthur Powell, the for- mer Norma Pommer, died Mon- day at Scott Memorial Hospi- tal. Born in Chesley, she came to Seaforth 27 years ago. Mrs. Powell leaves her hus- band; one son, Robert, and one daughter, Janice, both at ho1}ie; her mother, Mrs. G. Pommer, Stratford; three brothers, How- ard and Donald, both of Strat- ford; Kenneth, London; two sis- ters, Mrs. Harry (Evelyn) Hay - how, Stratford; Mrs. William (Betty) Rath, London. The body is at the G. A. Whitney funeral home, Sea - forth, where funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m., with burial following in Maitlandbank cemetery. Square Dancers Form Club The recently -formed Seaforth Square Dancing Club got off to a swinging start Thursda-y eve- ning in the Community Cen- tre. Bruce Coleman was elect- ed president, with Mrs. Milton Dietz as secretary, and Francis Hicknell, treasurer. The second meeting was held in the Orange Hall on Tuesday with four sets taking part. Ses- sions will be held each week at the' .Orange Hall. Those in- terested in dancing are invited to all join hands with the mem- bers and enjoy an evening of dancing each week. Cross and Mr. Clare Way, of London, visited with Mr. and Mrs, Keith Cross, of Don Mills, over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Thompson, of Clinton, were Sunday guests of Mr. James F. Scott at Thorn- ton Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kling spent the weekend in Ancaster. Mrs. Thelma Bromley, of Kit- chener, visited Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Flynn on Saturday. Mrs. W. They were gowned in identical street length dresses of turquoise peau de soie with bracelet - length sleeves and bell-shaped skirts caught up with a slef- flower in the back. Headresses of matching tulle completed their ensembles. They carried bouquets of pink mums. Mr. Robert Walters, of Sea - forth, was groomsman, and the guests were ushered by Glen Walters, Seaforth, and James Dreahmann, Brantford. Mrs. Carl Schneiker, Gode- rich, played traditional wedding music and accompanied the solists, Mrs. Bert Baechler. For the reception following the ceremony at the Bluewater Lounge, the bride's mother re- ceived in a brown •sheath dress with champagne accessories. A corsage of yellow roses com- pleted her ensemble. T h e groom's mother chose a beige flowered taffeta sheath dress with sheer overskirt and winter white accessories. Her corsage was of white Killarney roses. For a wedding trip to North- ern Ontario the bride chose a brown .double-knit suit with brown accessories and a cor- sage of yellow Gloria roses. On their return they will reside in Waterloo. He was born and educat- ed in Seaforth and attended the University of Toronto, graduat- ing as a civil engineer in 1910. Surviving are two daughters and one brother, Walter Mur- ray, of Seaforth. The funeral was held Wednesday in Regina. FINLAYSON—SCOTT The altar of Cromarty Pres- byterian Church was decorated with bronze, yellow, pink and white mums, fern and candel- abra for the wedding on Satur- day, Nov. 17, of Ina Grace, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gor- don Scott; of Cromarty, and Reginald Grant, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Finlayson, Staffa. The Rev. J. C. Boyne officiated. Traditional wedding music was played by Mrs, Kenneth McKel- lar, great-aunt of the bride, who also accompanied the soloist, Mrs. R. D. Sadler, when she sang "The Lord's My Shepherd" and "I'll Walk Beside You." Given in marriage by her father,- the bride chose a floor - length gown of white silk or- ganza and Chantilly lace over taffeta and tulle. The lace bo- dice was fashioned with lily - point sleeves and a scalloped sabrina neckline. A crown of pearls held her Frefich illusion bouffant veil. She, carried a bouquet of red roses. Maid of honor was Miss Doro- thy Scott, sister of the bride, London, wearing a dress of gold velvet with matching cummer- bund with white accessories, and carried a bouquet of bronze and yellow mums. Miss Janet Scott; of Gode- rich, was flower -girl, dressed in white velvet with white acces- sories, and carried a basket of pink and white mums.' Bradley Finlayson, cousin of the groom, acted as ringbearer. The groom was attended by his brother, Laird Finlayson, of Kip'pen, and the ushers were Gordon Colquhoun, - cousin of the bride, and Murray Finlay- son. brother of the groom. For a wedding dinner follow- ing the ceremony, the church parlors were' decorated with pink and white streamers and bells. The mother of the bride received wearing a brown em- bossed taffeta dress with brown accessories. A corsage of yel- low roses completed her en- semble. The groom's mother chose a brown ensemble with brown accessories and ' a cor- sage of yellow roses. Those assisting at the dinner, were Carol Howe, Margaret Wallace, Alice Walker, Shirley Gardiner, Mary Leversage, Dor- is Johns and Rosanna and Ra- mona Worden. • For travelling to the Eastern United States, the bride chose a brown double knit suit with green accessories and a corsage of yellow roses. COUNCILLORS The high -flying Juniors won another game Monday night by defeating Forest 6-3 in a Sham- rock Junior "D" hockey league at Hensall. Gerard Overholt led Hensall with two goals. Sin- gle goals were scored by Bob Johnson, Earl Wagner, Wayne Willtrt and John Varley. Terry Martin scored all Forest's goals.
