By WALTMAKDATOR Christmas comes to Canadian homeS each year bringing more than just gifts and good cheer. It has a habit of bringing along a lot of hard work as well. For although Christmas is un- doubtedly Canada's happiest holiday, it can also be the most fatiguing. During the Yuletide season, everyone from the postman to the department store salesman has to add some extra hustle to meet the Christmas rush. Even the housewife has. to quicken Ther pace. She- has "to stir up the Christmas pudding, mix up the mincemeat, clean out the house in -readiness for the family .get-together, a n d perform a thousand other household chores in prepara• tion for the festive day. Christmas Crowds Then there's the Christmas shopping, shuffling with the crowds from store to store look- ing for the perfect present for husband Harry, sister Sue, or brother Bob. Of course, once the presents are •bought, there's still the wrapping to do. And inevitably. the rest of the family feels mother is such an artistic wrap- per that they would like her to fancy up their pile of presents too. After that, there's the Christ- mas cards to do. There's a hun- dred addresses to look up, a hundred cards ,to sign, and a hundred stamps to lick. But the husband doesn't escape his share of Christmas time chores. p i L ir. • wir••-4,.e„,t wiuiwirrwr;.( yrrre- .i rr ...4... Y... Y. . Y. •.'.4, ..Y.... K•... Y„ ...4 .. ,4 ...4 +4, Y..
