riage
arriage - amida setting of white
gladioli: The bride is the daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Atchi-
son, 208 Huron St., Stratford,
and the bridegroom is a son of
Mr. and Mrs. John Flannery,
RR 1, Dublin. Soloists were Lar-
ry Lemerichick, 299 Huron St.,
and Peter Van Herk, 32 Grant
St., accompanied by. Miss Lu-
cille Rousseau, 196 Queen St.,
organist.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride chose a' floor -
length gown of silk taffeta,
fashioned with square neckline
and lilypoint sleeves. The bouf-
fant skirt was appliqued with
Calais. lace. Her tiered . satin
veil was held in place with a
tiara of crystals and pearls.
She wore a string of pearls,
the gift of the bridegroom, and
carried a cascade bouquet of
red Yuletide roses, stephanotis
and ivy trails.
Miss Margaret Atchison, the
bride's sister, was maid of hon-
or and bridesmaids were Mrs.
Wilfred Corriveau, Kitchener,
sister of the bridegroom, and
Miss Marion Willenson, RR 5,
Stratford. They were similarly
gowned in street -length dresses
of conflower, blue moire taf-
feta, fashioned with bateau
neckline, set-in sleeves and soft-
ly pleated skirts. A self -fabric
bow and belt completed the
gowns, Each attendant wore a
matching nylon pillbox with
small petals on the crown and
small veils. They each -carried a
crescent cascade of pink carna-
tions and rosebuds.
Flower -girl was Elaine Heen-
an, RR 5, Stratford, dressed in
pink nylon over taffeta and a
blue headband. She carried a
nosegay of blue tinted carna-
tions and blue cornflowers.
Best man was the bride-
groom's brother, Pat Flannery,
of London. The ushers were

For a honeymoon to be spent
in Western Canada, the bride
travelled in a three-piece knit
suit 1, of Hunter Green, which
featured an overblouse with a
sweetheart neckline and. chanel
trim on -the jacket. A matching
hat of imported mousse, trim.

her ensemble. The couple will
reside in Dublin on their re-
turn.
BRYANS—OKE
' Carolyn Louise Oke, eldest
daughter of Mrs. Oke and the
late Lorne E. Oke, of Exeter,
and Franklin ' Charles Bryans,
son of Dr. and Mrs. W. R. Bry-
ans, were married in Toronto
on Saturday, August 25.
They spent the holiday week-
end in Seaforth and Exeter, and
on Friday evening a reception
at the home of Mrs. Agnes
Mason was held in honor of the
newlyweds. The couple will re-
side in Toronto, where the
groom is on the staff ,of North-
ern Secondary School.

Mr, and Mrs. Fred McGregor
and family attended the CNE
in Toronto on Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Alois Hirsch, of
Kitchener; spent the weekend
with Mrs. George McCartney.
Mr. and Mrs.' Mac Wilson at-
tended the funeral of their
uncle, Mr. Albert McKellar, in
Michigan on Sunday.
Mrs. H. Berry, Dwayne Elliott
and Gay have returned after vis-
iting with relatives in Seattle,
Victoria, Bremerton, and also
attended the World's Fair at
.Seattle.
Miss .Payne and Miss Eliza-
beth Scott, of London, visited a
few days with Mrs. E. Forrest
and Miss Margaret McQueen.
Mrs. Walter Moffat has re-
turned home after visiting with
her sister. and brothers in
Gravenhurst.
Mrs. Ham and Miss Mary
Swan are holidaying at Bala.
Miss Grace Clifton, of Lon-
don, spent the weekend witli

Clifton.

Hirsch were married in Brucefield United- Church at a
quiet ceremony. Rev. A. H. Johnston officiated at the wed-
ding. The bride is the former Eleanor McCartney, -Bruce-
field, and the late Mr. McCartney. The bridegroom is the
son of Mrs. Krezenzia Birch, Kitchener, and the late Peter
Hirsch. The couple will make their home at Kitchener.

Marion McLean, Exeter, were
weekend visitors with Mr. John
Passmore, who returned to
Hamilton with them for an ex-
tended visit.

AFTER A BRIEF SUMMER VACATION, Tommy Hunter_
and' his regular supporting cast, The Rhythm Pals, Al Harris
and Wally Traugott, are back to their five=a-week schedule of
programs on the CBC Trans -Canada radio network. From this
October, Tommy and the boys switch to a new format with
programs on Monday, Wednesday- and Friday. Special guests
will be on hand each Monday and Friday, while Wednesday
will be devoted to country and western music.
