Mrs. Ted Brown and Linda spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs, Earl Elliott at Dublin on Sunday. Mr. Elliott is able to be out after his recent accident. Mrs. Jim Brown and family and Mrs. Ted Brown and Linda visited on Monday with Mrs. Roily Vanstone, Hensall. Mrs. Ted Brown received word that Mrs. Stan Osborne, of London, had passed away suddenly at her home in Lon- don. On Wednesday Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Jim Brown, Mrs. Ken Chambers, of Wingham, and Mrs. Doug Racho and lylrs. Earl Elliott, both of Dublin, at- tended the funeral from the A. Millard George Funeral Home, London. Mrs. Robert Dalrymple and Charlie visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Chappel, Cromarty, where a family gathering was held in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Varley and family, of St. Catharines. Bishop Townshend, of Lon- don, don, called. on 1}is uncle, Mr. William Scotchmer, and Mrs. Scotchmer on Friday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Cameron Flan- nigan and daughter, Evelyn, of London, visited with Mrs. Ted Brown and Linda .on Wednes- Announcements Mr. and Mrs. Herbert J:. Rxit- ton, RR 2, Dublin, wish to an- nounce the engagement of their youngest daughter, Margaret Olive, to Larry Allen Dale, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Dale, Seaforth. The wedding will take place September 22, at 4 o'clock, at the home of the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pinder wish to announce the engage- ment of their daughter, Ruth Marie, to Mr. Robert Wayne Liley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ar- thur Liley, of London, Ont. Mr. and Mrs. Perce Phillips, Toronto, are spending, a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Beer. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Horton spent Monday in Detroit and were accompanied home by Miss Olive Coxworth, aunt of Mrs. Horton, who will vacation her for two weeks. Friends of Miss Helen Payne, of London, will be pleased to hear that she has passed her grade 13 examination at Cen- tral Collegiate. Helen is a niece of Mr. Carl Payne. Mrs. William Harold Bell, of Hensall, has accepted a posi- tion on the staff of the Bell Telephone here, and commenc- d her duties on Monday. Mrs. Robert Baker, Sr., who has been in poor health for the past few weeks, "was admitted to Clinton Public Hospital Monday of this week., Mr. and Mrs. • Roy Consitt spent last week in Detroit, vis- iting with the latter's sisters.
