WEDDINGS
PEARCE—HARRIS,
Getrude Jean Harris, of St.
Thomas, and William Charles
Pearce, of Exeter, formerly of
Hay Township, exchanged mar-
riage vows in Faith Baptist
Church, St. Thomas, before the
Rev. J. B. Pittaway.
The bride wore a street -
length sheath dressy of blue lin-
en with accessories in white,
with which she wore a corsage
of roses. The bride's daughter,
Mrs. Albert Ives, Toronto, was
matron of honor, wearing a
beige dress with corsage of red
roses.
Attending the groom was his
son, Ellis Pearce, London.
A reception was held at the
-Grand Central Hotel. For trav-
elling on a wedding trip to
Northern Ontario, the bride
chose a two-piece navy and
white silk suit with white ac-
cessories and red rose' corsage.
They will reside in Exeter.
Mrs. Cooper introduced Mr.
Elston Cardiff, of Brussels, who
spoke on "Being a Good Neigh-
bor," and concluded " with a
poem, "A House By the Side
of the Road." Miss Elizabeth
Smale, of Staffa, was soloist,
accompanied by her mother.
Mr. Harvey Johnson, of Clin-
ton, showed beautiful slides of
his trip to Trinidad. The colors
were very vivid and it seemed
hard to believe there was a
place without flies, as in Trini-
dad they do not have screen
windows or doors to keep them
out.
Luncheon was served by Mrs.
E. Whitehouse, Mrs. William
Bell, Mrs. Stewart Pepper and
Mrs. J. Drummond.

Huron Farm News
Continued showery weather
has hampered harvest opera-
tions. Most of the grain is off
in the south end of the County,
with farmers working at the
straw. There is quite a bit of
grain still standing or in the
swath in the north end of the
county.
Some second -cut hay is being
harvested, although yields are
low due to earlier dry weather.
