MISS H. P IN(GLE
-Miss Helen Pringle, formerly
of Seaforth and Hibbert, died
in Marshall, Saskatchewan, on
Thursday. She was 99 years of
age. She was born in Wainfieet,
Ont., and at an early age moved
to Seaforth and lived in a house
=on the land that is now the
bowling green. Her father gave
up his job as track foreman on
the Grand Trunk Railway at
Seaforth to live on a farm he
purchased on the 8th conces-
sion of Hibbert," 2% miles west
of Staffa.
Miss Pringle taught school for
over 40 years. When the pass-
age of time removed he fam-
ily, the farm was sold in 1952
and Miss Pringle moved to
Marshall.
She is survived by one broth-
er, William, of Marshall, Sask.,
the only survivor of a family
of, twelve.
She was a member of Crom-
arty Presbyterian Church. Fun-
eral service was held at the G.
A. Whitney funeral home, Sea -
forth, on Monday, conducted
by Rev. D. 0. Fry, First Pres-
byterian Church, Seaforth.- Bur-
ial was in Egmondville ceme-
tery.
Pallbearers were Jack But-
son, Bill Butson, Alex Miller,
Alfred Ross, Sr., Harold Cole-
man and Ernest Ross.

W. J. FEL
Wilbert J. Fell died in Scott
Memorial Hospital on Friday,
May 25, in his 70th4.ear. Born
and educated in Hibbert Town -
'hip, he farmed there all his
life.
In 1918 he married Penolope
Worden, who survives. Also
surviving are a daughter, (Lois)
Mrs. Arnold Alton, Lucknow,
and one son, Lorne, on the
home farm; four grandchildren
and two sisters, Mrs. Alex Mc-
Donld, Seaforth, and Miss Ed-
na Fell, Goderich. He was a
member of Staffa United
Church.
The funeral service was held
at the G. A. Whitney funeral
home, Seaforth, on Monday,
with Rev. A. H. Daynard, Staffa
United Church, officiating. In-
terment was in Staffa cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jack But.son,
Alfred Ross, Sr., Lloyd Miller,
John Drake, Arthur Smale and
Thomas Bid' ham. Flowerbear-
ers were Bi}11 Butson, Ross
Smale, Cecil Glanville and Bill
Blake.
Mr. Wayne Pepper left last
week for Kemptville, where he
has secured a position.
.Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Barker
and Betty Ann and Russell vis-
ited in Burford with Mr. and
Mrs. Alvin Williams on ''Sun-
day.
Mrs. Lawrence Hannon and
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Barker were
in Stratford on Thursday.
Miss Wendy Sheldon, of St.
Marys, and Nancy Gibb, Strat-
ford, visited their uncle and
aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Dalton Mal-
colm, last week.
Mr. and Mrs. George Pepper,
Mitchell, with Mr. and Mrs.
Glenn Pepper on Friday.
Mrs. Mills and Mr. and Mrs,
Fred Hurst, Toronto, visited for
a few days with Mrs. Mabel
Higgerson.
Master Terry Elligson spent
a few days with his grandmoth-
er, Mrs. Mabel Higgerson, while
his parents were holidaying ov-
er the weekend up north.
Mrs. Alexia Malcom spent a
few days ` recently with her
daughter, Mrs. Harvey Hyde
and Mr. Hyde.

The death occurred in St.
Mary's Hospital, London, on
Friday of Mrs, - Lucy Camilla
Ry.an. While Mrs. Ryan had not
been in the best of health for
some time, her passing Was sud-
den,
following a stroke a week
earlier.
The former Camilla Prender-
gast, she was born in Tucker -
smith and was educated at Sea -
forth schools. She was married
in 1922 at Scott, Sask., to
Frank Ryan, who predeceased
her in 1951. She had resided
in Seaforth since 1930, until
two years ago,
She is survived by a daugh- 111
ter, Mary, Mrs. L. D. Gillespie,
Scarboro, and two sons, Fran-
cis J., of -Riverside, and Allan
L., of London; a sister, Cather-
ine, Mrs. Dennis . Molyneaux,
Chicago, and a brother, Dr.
Joseph Prendergast, Westche8.

til Monday when Requim High
Mass was sung at -St. James'
Church; with Rev. C. E� Suili
van officiating. Interment foI-
lowed in St. James' cemetery,
the pallbearers being Ken

hamer, M. E. Clarke, Peter Mc-
Iver and Joseph Devereaux.

Mrs. Harry Jessome received
word this week that her hus-
band has been taken off the
critical list and is improving at
Westminster Hospital, London.
Mrs. J. D. Cairns has return-
ed from a motor trip to Ottawa,
Montreal, Quebec City and
other. eastern points.
Mr. Ron Williams, Vancouver,
returned home Friday by TCA
for three weeks' vacation with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mike
Williams.
Mr. C. W. Hutton, East St.
Louis, Illinois, visited with his
sister, Mrs. Joseph Grummett,
'and Mr. Grummett.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Matthews,
of Seaforth, and Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Farquharson, of London,
attended the graduation at
Greater Nnagara General Hos-
pital, where Miss Loise Farqu-
harson was a graduate on Fri-
day evening, and also spent the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Al-
vin Farquharson and family, of
Niagara Falls, Ont.
Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Carter
attended . the graduation exer-
cises of their daughter, Gloria,
from Stratford General"Hospital
School of Nursing, in Stratford
on Saturday, and entertained 54
guests at their home following
the ceremo y.
Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Flynn vis-
ited Mr. and Mrs. Alex Gardiner
of Cromarty on Sunday.
Mrs. D. M. Beattie, of Toron-
to, spent the weekend with Mr.
and Mrs. James A. Stewart.
Mr. Harry Nesbitt, who has
been on the staff of the Clinton
public school for the past six
years, has joined the staff of
the Tnnmins High and Voca-
tional School, and will teach
there in September.
Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Flynn at-
tended the graduation of Miss
Gloria Carter in Stratford on
Saturday and the reception fol-
lowing at her home.
Mr. and Mrs. Mike Williams,
Joan and Ronald spent the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Williams of Whitby.
Mr. Neil Broadfoot has re-
turned to Toronto after -spend-
ing holidays with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Broadfoot.
Mr. James M. Scott has re-
turned from a fishing trip to
Northern Ontario.

Mrs. John Onbelet were in Camp
Keewadyn, north of Goderich
last weekend, attending a Girl
Guide instruction course.
