Council Sets
Tax Prepayments
Tuckersmith Council author-
ized the issuing of tax prepay-
ment certificates at the May
meeting Tuesday. This is a
system whereby any taxpayer
in the Township of Tucker -
smith can pay part of, or nearly
all, of his current year's taxes,
in advance, and receive inter-
est at the rate of 6 per cent
per annum on his investment.
It was hoped by council mem-
bers that more ratepayers
would take advantage of this
service.
Municipal drainage was a
major item on the agenda. The
court of revision on the Bean
Drain was held at 9:00 p.m.,
and two appeals were .consider-
ed. Following this, the reports
of the Clark and Buchanan
Drains were read. Clerk J. I.
McIntosh was instructed to pre-
pare cash by-laws and court of
revision was set for 9:00 .and
9:30 p.m., respectively, on June
5th.

passed for payment: Roads,
