THE QUEEN'S HOTEL • We , appreciate the oppor- tunity of providing Lumber and Millwork in the re- modelling program carried out by, The Queen's. While the hotel is now in operation, formal op- ening ceremonies are planned for Tuesday afternoon, April 17, when Mayor Edmund Paly Will officiate at a ribbon cutting ceremony. In announoing the opening occasion, the management ex- tended a cordial invitation to the public to attend and to in- spect the new arrangements. The entire building will be op- en to the public and following the tours visitors will be guests in the Diplomat Room, where tea and cookies will be served. As a special feature at the open- ing ceremonies, each lady guest will be presented with a flower. The Queen's was purchased recently by Mex Hassan and Hanny Shousher, of London. Mr. Hassan has had 25 years' experience in hotel manage- ment, and until recently , oper- ated the present Embassy Ho- tel in London. A native of Lebanon, he has been in Can- ada for many years. Mr. Shousher, also a native of Lebanon, has been in Canada 13 years and has been associ- ated with Mr. Hassan for some years. Mr. and Mrs. Shousher and their young son will reside in Seaforth. During recent months the in- terior of the three-storey struc- ture has been redesigned and renovated to provide fully mod- ern facilities for the travelling public. Daly will officiate. entrances are finished in rich panelling. , Entrance to the Huron room may be gained di- rectly from the hotel foyer, or from North Main Street. The Huron Boom is fully licensed as a cocktail lounge. A one -storey addition at the north of. the building provides an attractive men's beverage room. Access to this is from `orth Main Street. �T))e Diplomat Room provides an attractive appearance and Ate relaxing atmosphere, so nec- essaryto enjoy good food. The Diplomat Room, which is licensed as a dining lounge, is open from 8 a.m. until 1 a.m. each day. A coffee bar pro- vides facilities for those who wish only a relaxingcup of coffee or a sandwich. The room, has an authorized capacity of 66 persons. The Queen's has . accommoda- tion for 40 guests. Each room has been completely redecorat- ed and furnished with attrac- tive new beds and other furni- ture. In most of the rooms, ex- tensive carpet is a feature, and eight rooms have hot and cold running water. Daly, at 3:00 o'clock - For 85 years the travelling public has enjoyed the com- fort and convenience of The Queen's Hotel, located, at Sea- forth's main intersection, and on busy No. 8 Highway. Now completely remodel- led, The Queen' begins an- other period of even greater service to the public.
