Mrs. Baird, 102
,Mrs. Agnes J. Baird, long-
time area resident, quietly cele-
brated her 102nd birthday iit
the Queensway Nursing Home,
Hensall4 qn Tuesday.
heeVent was attended by
her immediate family. Mrs.
Baird sat up in the living room
of the home and showed keen
interest in the more than 100
gifts and messages of congratu-
lations that reached her. She
wore a pink carnation corsage,
the gift pf her great-grandchil-
dren. Greetings included mes-
sages from the Prime Minister,
the Premier of 'Ontario, and
from E. Cardiff, Huron MP. A
certificate from the Provincial
Secretary attested to the occa-
sion.
Besides her son Tom, of
Brucefield, Mrs. Baird has a
grandson, Stewart Baird, and
his family who live on the farm
homestead in Stanley Township,
which was purchased by Thomas
Baird, Sr., and where- Mrs.
Baird came as a bride three-
quarters of a century ago.

ALBERT LEWIS SELLARS
BLYTH Allt Lewis Sel-
Jars, a native of the village of
Blyth, died Saturday morning
at Huronview. Mr. Sellars was
84 years old, a son of the late
Richard Sellars and Christena
Coulter Sellars. Eor many years
he was the genitil village ex-
pressman. •
He was unmarried, but sur-
viving are three brothers: Rus-
sell, .of Port Dover; Whitfield,
Toronto, and Wesley, of Gode-
rich.
Members of the Royal Black
Knights and Loyal Orange Lodg-
es held a_memorial service at
the Tasker Memorial Chapel
Sunday evening..
Rev. Robert Meally, rector of
Trinity• Anglican Church, offici-
ated at a funeral service Mon-
day afternoon at 2 o'clock in
the Tasker Memorial Chapel.
The pallbearers were Gordon
Carter, Calvert Falconer, Roy
Noble, Harvey Sillib, William
Thuell and Emerson Wright ;
flowerbearer, Charlie Stewart.

MRS. JOHN MacGREGOR
HENSALL — Public funeral
services, largely attended, were
held from the Bonthron Fun-
eral Chap, Hensall, Saturday,
Jan. 27,. for the late Mrs. -Cath-
erine MacGregor, conducted by
her minister, Rev. Ross 1. ac -
Donald, with burial in Meet
cemetery.
Mrs. MacGregor passed away
in South Huron Hospital, Exe-
ter, Thursday, Jan. 25, having
been a patient there for the
past 11 months. The former
Catherine ' MacDonald, of Tiv-
erton, she was in her 75th year.
She resided with her husband,
the late John MacGregor, who
predeceased her in 1953 on the
second concession of Hay Town-
ship for 30 years before taking
up residence here a few years
ago.
Surviving are one son, Archie,
Hensall; one daughter, Margar-
et, Mrs. William J. IVIcLean, Ex-
eter, and two grandsons, Brian
and Allan McLean. .

MRS. FRED MANNS
HENSALL—Mrs. Fred Manns,
a highly esteemed resident of
the village for 63 years, passed
away at the home of her son,
Kenneth, Toronto, . Saturday,
Jan. 27. Mrs. Manns, who was
83, was born at Chiselhurst, the
former Christina Shepherd. She
_spent .the winter months with
her son and daughter-in-law in
Toronto, and for the past few
months had been in failing
-health. Shp was -a member of
Hensall United Church- and ac-
tive in the Women's Missionary
Society when health permitted.
Her, husband 'predeceased her
in 1938.
Surviving are one son, Ken-
neth, and one grandson, Don-
ald, Toronto, and one brother,
William' -5. Shepherd, Hensall.
Public funeral servIceS were
held from the, Bonthron Fun-
eral Chapel, Hensall, Tuesday,
at 1:30 p.m., conducted by Rev.
Currie Winlaw, who paid fitting
tr' ute to the life of the de-
eded. Burial was in McTag-
gart's cemetery.

GEORGE McADAM
The death occurred Monday
in Victoria Hospital, London,
of George McAdam, following
a long illness. He was N.
,Born on the Mill Road in
Tuckersmith, he was t h e
son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. G. McAdam. He farm-
ed in ; the township for a
number of years. During the
First War he served in -the
161st Battalion. For some years
he has been a resident of Hur-
onview Home at Clinton.
Funeral services were con-
ducted at the Box Funeral
Chapel on Wednesday after-
noon by Rev. J. Cliff Britton.
Interment followed in Egmond-
ville cemetery, when the pall-
bearers were Alex Muir, Glenn
Smith, Willard -Elliott, W. M.
Hart, George Eaton and Chas.
MacKay.
