Diane Catherine Koehler be-
came the bride of Raye Alex-
ander Armstrong, on Saturday;
Sept. 11, at 3 p.m., at St. Peter's
Lutheran Church, Zurich. Rev.
A. C. Blackwell officiated. The
church was decorated with bas-
kets of turquoise and white
gladioli. The bride is the daugh-
terf Mrs. Pearl Koehler, Hen -
sail, land the late Bruce Koehler
and the groom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Armstrong,
Varna. The organist, Ronald
Klopp, Zurich, accompanied the
soloist, Mrs. William Fuss, Hen-
sall, who sang "Wedding Pray-
er" and "Two Shall Be One." •
'The bride, given in marriage
by her brother, Glenn Koehler,
chose a floor -length gown of
white .silk'` organza,.styled with.
controlled front and back full-
-nese and, bow, of self trim at
waist back., The empire line
bodice featured a scalloped
neckline of . ChantilIy lace and
lily -point sleeves, the lace be-
ing repeated on tl)e skirt front.
She wore a four -tiered silk il-
lusion veil with rosette . head-
piece, and carried a cascade of
red roses and -white carnations.
Mrs. Arthur. McCallum, RR 1,
Woodham, sister, of the bride,
was maid of honor. Miss Mary
Armstrong, Varna, sister of the
groom, was bridesmaid, and the
junior bridesmaid was Lynda
Koehler, Hensall, sister of the
bride. They were dressed alike
in A-line 'street -length dresses
of deep aqua sheer over taf-
feta, with lace boleros, wed-
dinglland headpieces and cock-
tail veils, The flower girl, Miss
Betty„ Lynn Koehler, niece of
the bride, wore a white taffeta
dress with' sash, matching the
bridesmaids' dresses. They tear-
ied cascades of aqua -tinted
carnations: -Jack Armstrong, Clinton, bro-
ther of the groom, was grooms-
man, and ushering were Arthur
McCallum; Woodham, brother-
in-law of the bride, and Fred
Armstrong, Varna, brother of
the groom.
A reception was held at the
Dufferin Hotel, Centralia.
For a wedding trip to points
north, the bride chose a red
two-piece double knit wool suit,
black accessories and corsage
of white roses. The couple will
reside in Hdhsall.
Guests from out-of-town were
from Toronto, Aspidin, Clinton,
Zurich, Hensall, Varna, Sea -
forth, Goderich, Kippen and
London.

Victoria Hospital, London, on

illness. She is survived by

Mrs. David Denholm, 80,
of Forest and formerly of 1
Seaforth, died in Victoria
Hospital; London, Tuesday,
following an illness of six
months. The former Agnes
Speir, she was • born in the
Blyth area.. Her husband pre-
deceased her in 1945. She was
a member of . the United
Church.
She is 'survived by one '
daughter, Mrs. Kenneth,.
(Mary) Beattie of Forest,
and one son Jack of London.
Two sisters, Mrs, John Work,
London; Mrs. Gordon Walsh,
Belgrave and one brother,
Allan Speir of Toronto, also
survive.
,Funeral services will be
held at 2 p,m.; Sept. •16th,
from the G. A. Whitney Fun-
eral Home, on Goderich St.
West, Seaforth, with inter-
ment in Blyth Cemetery.

Joseph B. Kale, 77, of St.
Columban, died in Scott Mem-
orial Hospital, Seaforth, Satur-
day. He had been a farmer in
McKillop Township until retir-
ing to St. Columban in 1954. : --

umban Raman Catholic Church,
acid of the Hely Name Society,
and of the Propagation of the
Faith. , „ •
Surviving are his wife, the'

FRANCIS OLIVER .BALL
Francis Oliver Bell, a lifelong
resident of Morris Township,
died in Clinton Public Hospital
Saturday morning following ,a
Father lengthy illness.
Mr, Bell, who was in, his
73rd year, was 'a • son of the
late John R. Bell and Mary
Oliver Bell. He 'had farmed all
his life. on the 8th- concession
of Morris,Township, having tak-
en over the homestead from
•his father.
He is survived by hiswife,
the former , Charlotte Wallace,
also of Morris Township; one
son, Wallace Bell, of the same
township; one daughter, 1VVIrs.
Lorne (Addie) Hunking, Hullett'
Township, and five" grandchil-
dren.
The remains -rested at the
Tasker Memorial Chapel until
Monday afternoon at 2:30,
where a funeral -service was in
charge of Rev. W. 0. Mather,-,
minister of Blyth United
Church: Interment followed in
Blyth Union Cemetery. Pall-
bearers were Miller Richmond,
AIbert Skelton, William Henry,
Donald Fraser, Joseph Mc-
Caughey and Walter Shortreed.
JAMES A. MORRISON
James A. Morrison, of 75
Louisa ,St., Kitchener, died Tues-
day at his home following a
lengthy illness.• He was born in
Grey County, near Markdale, on
August 27, 1893, a son` of the
late Mr. and Mrs. James Mor-
rison. He was a member of the
Sacred Heart R.C. Church. He
farmed'" near Dublin for many
years. He retired in 1952 and
lived in Dublin until 1963 when
he moved to Kitchener.
He is survived -by his wife,
the former Marie Sullivan,
whom he . married in Kings-
bridge in 1922. • Also surviving
are four sons: Joseph, of Wind-
sor; John,, of Toronto; James,'
of Willowdale; ,Vincent; of Wa-.'.
terloo; one daughter, Mrs. Phil-
ip (Mary) Friedmann, Kitchener;
one sisters Mrs. J. EssoGibson, of
Red, Deer, Alta., rind 16 grand-
children. He was predeceased'
by four brothers and one sis-
ter.
The body is resting at the
Ratz-Becktel Funeral Home, Kit-
chener, where the , Rosary will
be' recited Thursday at '8 p.m,
Prayers will be said at the fun-
eral home on. Friday at 9:30
a.m., followed by Requiem High
Mals at Sacred 'Heart Church

with baskets of gladioli. and
summer blossoms. The bride is
the daughter of Mr. and Mks.
Paul Sommerville, Webbwood;
and the groom is the son of
'the late Mr. and_Mrs. William
J. Miller, formerly of Seaforth.
Mrs Olga Stressman played
traditional wedding music and
accompanied the soloist, Miss
Donna Steinkie, ,.who sang. "0
Promise. Me" and "The Lord's
Prayer."
The bride, given in marriage
by her brother, Mr. Howard
Sommerville, Espanola,' chose a
formal sheath gown of silk or-
ganza over -French taffeta. It
had a scoop neckline with cap
eleeves • and the skirt was styl-
ed with inserts of madeira lace
at .the waist and around the
lower edge of the skirt. A flow-
ing train started at the hipline.
She wore an elbow -length veil
of 'silk illusion, edged with ma-
deira lace and held in place by
a crown of mother of pearl.
Shecarried a petite round bou-
quet of deep pink roses- and
Stephanotis • with white stream-
ers.
Miss Donna Marie Demerling,
Toronto, cousin of the bride,
was the maid of honor, and
acting as bridesmaids were Mrs.
Marlene Orr, London, sister of
the groom, and Miss Alice Avi-
son, Webbwood, friend of the
bride. The junior bridesmaid
was Miss Cynthia -Vincent, Ver-
ner, niece of the bride. They
were , dressed alike in formal
sheath gowns of marine aqua
georgette over taffeta with em-
pire • waist effect, scoop neck-
line, cap `sleeves and bodices of
white, lace. • Their crisp white
veils fell from pleated circlet
headpieces of same fabric as
dresses with pert velvet bow
and' streamers at- the back. They
wore pearl earrings and, neck-
lets, gifts from the" bride. They
had round bouquets of Shasta
mums, which were carried from

vards was well advanced.
Responsibility for the main-
tenance of fences. abutting the
town dump will be discussed
with abutting owners. The ques-
tion- had arisen earlier this year
when -cattle got into the Doig
golf course. Council agreed to
refund the cost of a building
permit which had been pur-
chased by. Ben Akker a , year
ago. Subsequent to the issuing
of the permit, council it was
found, the proposed construc-
tion was on a proposed right-
of-way, and Mr. Akker had co-
operated in cancelling the •Pro-
ject.
Chairman of. the Park Com-
mittee, Ceuncillor•Betty Cardno,
in her report said -the cost of
an. 18 -foot, flagpole Which had
been contemplated for Victoria
Park, was $28; but since the pole

panola, cousin of the bride, was
flower -girl and wore a formal
gown identical to the brides-
maid dresses, with a wide vel-
vet matching bow and flowing
streamers for. a headpiece. She
carried a white- basket of pink
and white carnations and baby's
breath. '
Mr. Norman McIntosh, Dow-
ling, friend of the groom, was
groomsman and the Ushers were
Mr. Carl Berger, Kitchener,
friend of the groom, and Mr.,,
Eldon Stinson, Webbwood, cou-
sin of the bride.
A reception and dance was
held at the Legion Hall, Espan-
ola. The • bride's. parents, Mr.
and Mrs, Paul Sommerville, and
Mr. and Mrs. Jack MacKay, Sea -
forth, aunt and uncle of the
groom received' the guests. The
bride's mother wore a soft pink
French crepe sheath dress with
overjacket with three-quarter
length sleeves, with accessories
in desert brown and corsage of
d:. ink 'rosea. The groom's'
aunt, . rs. Jack MacKay, Sea -

cade sheath dress .with three-
quarter length sleeves, gold and
black feather hat with black ac-
cessories, and a corsage of deep

Soole Trophy
The Seaforth Lawn Bowl-
ing Club held—their Soole
Trophy ,Tournament, Satur-
day evening with a good turn
out. Winners of the trophy
were a rink skipped by Dave
Sims, Ida Close, vice,,and Art
Finlayson on lead; '2nd place
were. Neil Bell skip, ,Doro-
thy Park vice and Wilmer
Cuthill lead; '3rd. place went
to Bill Ball skip, Dinah Sills
vice and Hugh Thompson.
Labour Day winners were
for the ladies, Elsie, Dins-
more 1st and Mae Habkiark
2nd. Merl, Dave' Sims lst, and
Jack Muir 2nd.
