FUNERALS SRS,W. J. NOTT Mrs. Winnie Nott received word on Thursday of the sud- den passing of Mrs. W. J. Nott, at Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. She had been in excellent health to the time of her death. She would have been 91 yars old on Saturday, August 28th, the day of the funeral. ' > MARGARET L. BUCHANAN Miss Margaret L. Buchanan, a resident of Hensall for a number of years and a register- ed nurse, passed away in Clin- ton Public Hospital on Wednes- day, August 25th; where Ole had been a patient for two mouths with a fractured hip, which she suffered in a fall at her home. -In her 89th .year she is sur- vived by two sisters, Mrs. Geo. Armstrong, Hensall,. and Miss Mary Buchanan, Toronto. Funeral services were held Friday from Bonthron funeral home, conducted by Rev. H. F. Currie. Burial was in Hensall Union- Cemetery. Pallbearers were Len Purdy, Blighton Ferg,: Ira teiger, W. H. Bell, Willard Buchanan and W. H. Weekes. MRS. WILFRED PICK TT Mrs. Wilfred G. Pickett, 74, of 160 Queen St., Clinton, died Thursday night in Clinton Pub- lic Hospital. She was the for- mer Pearl Susan Dunford, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Dunford. She had been. a resident of Clinton for more than 50 years. Surviving are three daugh- ters, Mrs. Laurence (Ruth) Plumsteel, Seaforth; Miss Isa- bel Pickett, at home, and Mrs. Allan (Helen) Hughes, 18 Birm- ingham St., Stratford; one son, Kenneth; Clinton; two sisters, Mrs, Mabel Moffatt, Clinton,' and Mrs. Robert E. (Cleta) Myers, Sarasota, Fla.; two brothers, Ernest Dunford, Sarnia, and Ross, Kitchener; and her step- mother, Mrs. Nettie Dunford, Kitchener. Mr. Pickett died in 1956, and a daughter, Marion, died last year. - - The body was at the Beattie funeral home, Clinton, where the• funeral service was held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Grant Mills, of Ontario Street United Church, officiated; and burial was in Clinton cemetery. - MRS. JOHN PERDUE Mrs. John Perdue, 73, Clin- ton, died Saturday afternoon in Clinton Public Hospital. Born in• McKillop Township, the for- mer May Hanna (Florence) Smith, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Smith. She was a resident of this area almost all her life, Surviving are her husband with whom she celebrated their 55th. wedding anniversary -last September; one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Gladys) Livermore, Clinton; three sons, Clarence, a constable with the Clinton Po- lice Force; Raymond and Harry, both of Lyndon; three sisters, Mrs. James (Emily) Thompson, Midland; Mrs. C. WESLEY VENNER Residents Of Hensel! and com- munity were saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Mrs. Wesley Venner, who died sud- denly in South Huron Hospital, Exeter, on Saturday, August 28, having been admitted to the hospital' Saturday morning with a severe heart attack. Mrs. Venner, who would have been 67 .years of age in Octo- ber of cto-ber..of this year, was the for- mer Mary Estella McLaren, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William L. McLaren, and Wag born in Hibbert Township. Mr. and Mrs. Venner took up residence in Hensall in 1951 from Chiselhurst. She was a member of Hensall United Church, "Unit Four Of United Church Women, member of Amber Rebekah Lodge and Le- gion Ladies' Auxiliary, always taking an active part, Surviving are her husband; two sons, Rodger, Hensall; Mur- ray, Grand Bend; one daughter, Jean, Mrs. Gilbert Johns, Wood- ham; two sisters, Mrs. Alfred (Margaret) Hunkin, Exeter, Mrs. Glenn (Ruby) Bell, Hensall; one brother, Roy McLaren, London; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Public funeral services were held from Bonthron funeral hohie, Hensall, Tuesday at 3 p.m., conducted by Rev. WI Tours Museum The Dublin Women's Insti- tute members journeyed to Goderich in place .of their Au- gust meeting at a member's home. They spent the after- noon touring the Museum and viewing the many and varied articles of, interest. After the tour they gathered at the park and held a picnic supper.
