'Gifts • r8 BROADFOOT-McGEE Chalmers' United Church was the setting for the marriage of Julia Mary McGee and John Mc - Ewan Broadfoot, Thamesford. Rev, A. G. Gay officiated with the assistance of Rev. Andrew Lane. • The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. W. T. McGee, RR 2, Lakeside. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Broad - foot, Brucefield. The bride chose a floor -length, gown 'of pure silk organza over taffeta. Lace was appliqued on the front of the boufant skirt and on the detachable watteau train. The basque bodice, with sabrina neckline and lilypoint sleeves, was entirely of lace. A crown of p•earis and crystals held; her elbow - length veil of embroidered illusion , and she carried a cascade of red roses and white carnations. iD 'Mrs. Kenneth Finch, Lake- side, matron of honor for her sister, wore a yellow gown with boufant organza skirt over street - length taffeta sheath. Bridesmaids were Miss Anne Marie Tate, Granton, Miss Helen Broadfoot, sister of the groom,. and Miss Brenda Pa- tience, Thamesford. They wore gowns similar to the matron of honor's but in aqua - marine. Ring bearers were Sandy Br6ad- foot and Leslie Adair. David 'Woods was groomsman and fishers were James Broad - foot, brother of the groom, Thomas McGee, brother of the bride,, and Ross McCorquodale. For travelling, the bride donned a white suit with navy blue accessories and corsage of 'pink' roses. The couple will live in Thames ford. FUNERALS LOIS LOIS ISABEL SCOTT Lois Isabel Scott, 20, of_ Mc- Killop Township, • died in Vic- toria Hospital,' London, on Sat- urday following . a month's. ill- ness. She was the daughter of Mr, and Mrs. 'Sam Scott, McKil- lop,,who survive, along with a brother, Kenneth. -She was edu- cated at SS 2 and ,SS 13, Mc- Killop, and at Seaforth District High School, and had complet- ed' two years at University of Western Ontario, A member of Northside United Church, she was active in both the choir and Sunday School of that church. Funeral services were held from the G. A. Whitney funeral home on Monday at. 2 p.m., with Rev. J. C. Britton officiat- ing. Interment was in Maitland - bank cemetery. "CATHERINE A.'EVANS There passed away at Hotel Dieu Hospital, Windsor, on Monday, Aug. 16, Mrs. Cather- ine Agnes • Evans, in her 76th year; after a lengthy illness. Born and educated at Kinkora, She was iCiarried to Joseph Ev- ans, of Dublin, in 1920, and liv- ed there until she and her hus- band moved -to Windsor fifteen years ago. She was a member of Assumption Church, Wind- sor, the' CWL and Altar Society. She was the daughter of the late William and Ellen Murray. Her husband predeceased her in 1939. Surviving 'are'' two daughters, Miss„Mary Evans, Windsor, and Sister Paul William (Eileen), of Holy Name Sisters,, Montreal; two sons, Joseph, of South Bend, Ind., and Frank P., of Calgary; three brothers, William Mur- ray, London; Michael Murray, Scarborough, and Edward Mur- ray, Kitchener; one sister, Mrs. Michael (Julia) Crowley, Lon- don, and two grandchildren. The body, is resting at Janis - se Bros.' funeral home, Wind- sor, until Thursday morning, when Requiem High Mass will be said at Assumption Churcli at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Patrick's cemetery, Dublin. The funeral will arrive at Dublin about 3 p.m. Thursday. ALBERT PEPPER Albeit Pepper, 77, Clinton, died Sunday at Scott Memorial Hospital. He farmed in Tucker - smith Township for many years before' retiring to Seaforth 20 years ago, and 'seven years ago moved to Clinton. His wife, the former Ethel Wilson, predeceased him five years ago. He is survived' by a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Pearl) Mc- Clinchey, Clinton; two sons; William, Brucefleld, and Leslie, Walton; three brothers, John, Stanley Township; Fred and Roy, Clinton; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Layton and Mrs. Howard (Rose) Crich, Clinton. Mr. Pepper was a member of Ontarib St. United Church, Clinton. Funeral services were held from Ball and Mutch funeral home, Clinton, on Tuesday, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Grant Mills officiating. Burial was .ID Mail landbank cemetery, Seaforth. Pallbearers were four. neph- ews: Elliott Layton, Brucefleld; Walter Pepper, Clinton; Nor- man Pepper, Hensall; Eldin Crich, Clinton;; and two grand- sons, Mervin Pepper, London, and Bert Pepper, RR 3, Sea - forth.
