The Cooper family appeared
on the World's Original Jam-
boree, WWVA, Wheeling, West
Virginia, for, about' 10 years.
Recently they packed up, mov-
ed to Nashville, and joined the
Grand Ole Opry. From their
first appearance on the Opry
they were intmediately accept-
ed and have become one of the
most requested acts.
Hensall Kinsmen , members
selling tickets and the Regal
Grill report there are some re-
serve 'tiekets left. The door for
the show opens at 7:30, giving
the audience ample time to get
seats for the show at 8:30. The
Hensall Kinsmen, who a, s n-
sors of the show, are uslag the
proceeds for service work in
the _community.

Two_Men Falb
As Lift .Collapses
Ken Barnes, 19, of Wyoming,
a grade 13 high school student,
was taken to South Huron Hos-
pital, Exeter, Friday eveni
with a fractured ankle and the
bones •, in his other foot frac-
tured, and was later removed
to Sarnia Hospital ,
The accident happened at
Thompson's Mill on South Rich-
mond Street. Barnes and an-
other man had completed roof-
ing on a silo and were .coming
down in a one-man lift, when
it , collapsed, and fell 100 feet.
The other .man was not injur-
ed.
Funeral of Lorne Zuefle
Funeral services for the late
Lorne Zuefle, of Windsor, were
held Wednesday, ,August 11, at
Windsor. Lorne, son of the late
Mr. and ,Mfrs. John uefie, Hen -
sail, .was born in Hensall and
died from injuries received ,in
a two -car crash • at an' intersec-
tion at' Windsor. His wife, the
former Grace Mason, of Exe-
ter, was admitted to hospital
with fractured ribs.,
Surviving- are his wife; one
daughter„ (Lorna) Mrs. Jack

Wingers scored two decisive vic-
tories over the Exeter Junior -s,
to take a 3-0' Lead in a best
four -out -of -seven series.
On Thursday, Aug. 12, the
Wingers defeated Exeter 27 -
in a game played at Exeter
Park. Roba Doig and Sheila
Dietz led the Wingers ,with five
runs each. J. Campbell and S.
Robinson each scod two for
the losers.

On Tuesday, Aug. 17, the
Wingers played host td"Exeter
girls at Seaforth Lions Park,
defeating the Exeter squad 40.3.
Lia de Jong and Sheila
led the Wingers' with six runs
each, and alt the other players
in the Winger's line-up gained
at .least three each.
Mary Helen Buchanarr-rttch-
ed a superb game, allowing on-
ly three hits, while striking out
11 and walking one.
TOWNSEND PICNIC
The fifth annual Townsend
picnic was held in Stratford
Park on Sunday, August 8th,
when 43 sat down to a boenti-
ful dinner. After dinner sports,
under the leadership of Ken
and Anne4e Lane and Alex and
Eileen Townsend were enjoyed
by everyone.

of the IOOF, when Mr. James
Main, of Vancouver, B.C., uncle
of Mrs. Titteringtai, will be in-
stalled as Sovereign, Grandma
Master of the World, , the first
Canadian to hold that position
Mr. Main is Grand Secretary of
British Columbia.

fered a fall in his home, was
admitted as a patient to South
Huron Hospital, Exeter.

Chief of Police E. R. Davis
investigated an accident at
King and Nelson Streets Wed-
nesday evening, when Wes Ven-
ner, travelling east, and Wil-
bert Dining, proceeding south,
collided at the intersection.
Damages were $400. -
Residents of Hensall are be-
ing bothered by vandalism to
garden • property. If this con-
tinues, anyone caught will be
prosecuted, stated Chief of Po-
llee E. R. Davis.
