For the occasion Avonton Presbyterian dhurch was decor- ated with white gladioli, Shasta chrysanthemums and blue -tint- ed carnations. Rev. Robert Bisl set officiated at the ceremony and Ernest Greenwood, Mit- chell, played traditional wed- ding music on the organ. ,The choir was made up of Brian, Mary, Elaine, Robert, Debbie, Kathy and Sandy Innes and Lloyd, Anne Marie and Myrna Walkom. Given in marriage by her brother, the bride wore a silk organza gown, styled with a full-length controlleeskirt. The bodice of deep Swiss embroid- ery insertions had a square neckline and elbow - length sleeves. The • same insertions formed a band around the skirt from the knee to hem. A de- tachable train flowed from a bow at the ,waist. A crown of pearls and crystal held her four -tier scalloped illusion veil. Cut in butter with 'a pastry blinder until mixture resembles- fine bread crumbs. Make a well, pour in all the milk at one. time and mix quickly to make a soft but not sticky dough. Turn onto a lightly floured board, quickly form into a‘ball, then knead for 20 seconds by pressing and folding dough sev- eral tinies. Shape„dough in one of the three following ways: 1. Roll dough lightly to an 8 -inch' round and place in a lightly greased 8 -inch layer cake pan. • 2. Divide .clough in half, then - roll each half to an 8 -inch round. Place one half in a lightly greased 8 -inch layer cake pan, brush top lightly with melted butter, then place sec- ond round on top. '• 3. Roll dough lightly 'to about %-inch thickness. Cut in 2%-ineh rounds with , biscuit cutter. - Place on baking sheet. Bake in a hot oven x(42,5°F. •until •lightlYi>browned, allowing 15 to 20.)minittes for cakes, 12 to 15 minutes for biscuits. MeanWhile, wash and hull strawberries. Reserve eight choice berries for garnish. Slice remainder ;• add the 1/2 cup. sugar and stir to mix. Split cake or biscuits ss - wise while warm, butteif sur% face. and immediately spread herries between layers and on top. For travelling the bride changed into a two- piece white, Jacquard weave cotton knit dress, enhanced by a corsage of red garnet Sweet- heart roses, white purse and shoes, and a copen blue petalled hat. Sprinkle % cup of cocoa- nut into gelatin. Divide tin foil in 4 strips and fold stiff to use as dividers, for. 9 equal square servings of jelly. Leave jelly .in refrigerator until slightly set. •Fill ' 9 peach halves' with ,white qrearti cheese and place one in each square (fiat side down). Hold in place with toothpicks. Cut up the rest , ' of the peaches and add, some to each square. Dissolve seo; ond box of gelatin in one cup of cold water and pour slowly into mould. Sprinkle remaining, cocoanut over. all.
