Donald H• Scott, Q.C., has
been appointed crown attorney
for Welland County, succeeding
the late T. Forestell, who
died May 11 after. 18 years in
the post. Mr. Scott has served
as assistant crows attorney since
1957.
A -son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. H. R. Scott, he is a native
of Seaforth. He worked for a

year as a'newspaper reporter
in Stratford and served four and
a half years in • the RCAF; two
of them overseas. Following his
discharge he attended the Uni-
versity of Toronto and was
called to the bar in 1951. •He
practiced in Fort Erie and Nia-
gara Falls before joining the
crownattorney's office.
He was named a Queen's
Counsel in the last New Year's
honors list.

There passed away in Victor-'
ia, B.C., on Thursday, May 27,
George Taylor,• husband of
Caroline, in his 83rd year. He
was the eldest son ofthe
late Mr. and Mrs; Henry Tay-
lor, and a brother of Harvey
Taylor and Mrs. Verne Dale,
of Hullett Township; Mrs. Earl
Lawson, .of Clinton; and Flor-
ence, Lawrence add Will, of
Victoria, B.C. Interment was
made` in' Victoria, Saturday,
May 29.

The second `meeting of the
Seaforth - Wild Weeders was
held• at the home of Dianne
Finlayson, when the roll call

last. Terry was an honor stu:

District High School and has
been the recipient of several
scholarships, both on graduating
from there and while a student
