Legion,
Corner
(By Jack Holland)
Here we are, comrades and
friends, with a bit of news from
here • and there.
Our Legion bingos 'have been
very well patronized, thanks to
the good work of Gord. Scott
and his volunteer helpers.
Summer will soon be here,
and with that comes a host of
Legion activities — the golf
tournament, Decoration . Sun-
day, the annual kid'dies' picnic
—so it will be a fairly busy
season.
Last weekenda foursome of
our euchre stalwarts went- sto

tion, and lo! and behold . W.ilr
son Allan;sand Art Nicholson
'emerged with a big prize; and
will bee -going to Galt to re-'
present the Branch on June -5
—imagine, so close to the an-
niversary of D -Day! In co
versation with' one of • our
euchre stars, 'I asked him how
come he and his partner =erg

ed victorious, and he replied
that my guess was as good as
yours. 'Nuff sed!!
-The month of May .is quite
an..eventful month . in world
history. Twenty years ago it
was the month that saw the"
end of the war in Europe VE
Day, and hack in 1804 in May,
Napoleon was declared Emper-
or of 'France, 'and ..in May of
1703 saw the first landings of
the Loyalists in New Bruns-
wick.
Meanwhile,• if the wily trout
are getting away, • sharpen up
the eye on the greens and let's
