Active In Wal on Area
Mrs. Frank Walters opened
the Walton UCW Unit meet-
ing with the Call to Worship
Wednesday evening. The hymn,
"This is My Father's World,"
was sung with Mrs, W. C. Haelt-
well at the piano. Prayer was
offered by Mrs. Walter Bewley
and the Lord's Prayer, repeat-
ed in unison. The Scripture les-
son was read by Mrs, -Walters
from Acts 14:8-23 with Mrs.
Bewley following with com-
ments. Mrs. Herbert Traviss
read a poem, "As One *other
To Another." The topic oh
"Brazil" was given by Mrs.
Arthur Higginbotham.
Mrs. Allan- McCall, -the presi-
dent, was in charge of the busi-
ness period, opening with a
poem, "The Heart . of a Boy."
Minutes were read by Mrs:' Jim
Clarke. The rol1F'call was an-
swered .bynaming a Disciple.
Thank -you notes were read,
also a letter from Miss, Betty
'Nichol, Del Rio,, Texas: Mrs.
Walter Bewley gave the treas-
urer's report. The copper con-
test' was announced for. June,
with Mrs. Barry Marshall and
Mrs. Herbert Traviss as lead-
ers. A Bible contest was ,cort-
ducted by Mrs. Allan McCall.
Lunch was- served by Mrs.
Barry Marshali, Mrs, Earl Wat-
son and Mrs. William Coutts.

The McKillop UCW Unit met
at the home of Mrs. -Stewart
McCall Wednesday evening,

CWL Meets '
The May meeting of the Cath-
olic Women's League was held
in the parish hall with a re-
presentative attendance. The
president, Mrs. Joseph; •Shea,
opened the meeting with the
League Prayer and a hymn was
sung in unison.
The secretary read the min-
utes and correspondence. The
treasurer gave a report on the
financial statement.' Mrs. Jos.
Shea^ and Mrs. James -Delaney
are attending the convention in
Chatham this week.
A short discussion on'�xrthe
resolutions which, will be voted
on at the annual - convention
followed. Mrs.- Frank Flannery
won the mystery pr^ize. Separ
ate school children entertained
with numbers from the music
festival held at Mitchell:. Bar-
bara McGrath and Mary Kelly,
duet; Tommy McGrath, solo;
James Vonk, solo; Jayne Looby,
solo, and Mary Margaret Row-
land followed by a triple trio.

16th and 8th Unit Meets
The May meeting of the
lfith and 8th UCW Unit was
held Monday evening at the
home of Mrs. Jan Van Vliet,
Jr, The meeting opened with
the hymn, "The Day is Dying
in the West." Mrs, William
Turnbull d -.Scripture
from Luke '10:38-42, . followed'
by prayer. -
The topic, "The Christian
Home," and an article, "They
Lived Courageously," were giv-
en by Mrs. Alvin McDonald.
The regular UCW meeting will
be held June 1. The hymn,
"What a Friend ,We- Have in
Jesus," was sung, and the
Lord's Prayer repeated in uni-
son. repeated
Mrs. Harold Bolger conduct-
ed the business. Minutes were
read by Mrs. George McCall.
The roll call was answered by
"A man of the Bible," with 14
ladies responding. The ladies
on the line who are not inern-
bers were •invited and there
were 10 guests who attended.
The bale for Mrs. Walton

were enjoyed by all present.
