The main feature at this
time of the season is the regu-
lar team roll -offs in each
league...
The only league starting late
in the playoffs is the Legion,
which is due to Good Friday.
All six teams will be in the
playoffs commencing Friday,
April 23.
Last Friday night the final
scheduled games were played
and it is understood that the
Guttersnipers, captained by Don
Wood, won the League trophy.
We wish to congratulate the
team on this win.

Beatles, 111; Lucky Strikes, 96;
Hepcats, 69; Martians, 62; Red-
caps, 54.
Ladies' high, single and tri-

This league has completed
two weeks of roll -offs. Team

The season's high single went
to B. Wraith (363), Lucan; high
triple, P. Haugh (794), Exeter;
and high average, Anne Wood
(210), Seaforth.

in particular We wish -to extend
congratulations to Anne Wood,
a member of the Seaforth team
who ended the season with the
top women's average of 210 for
the season.

Both 'A' and 'B' groups got

Euchre Winners
There were nine tables in
play at the euchre sponsored
by the LOL, held Monday eve-
ning. Winners were: ladies'
high, Mrs. Johnston; lone hands,
Miss Bessie Davidson; low, Mrs.
Albert Townsend; men's high,
Bob Dalton; lone hands, John
Tremeer; low, Robert Smith.
A draw for a cake' was won
by Borden Brown.

euchre at the hall on Monday
evening. There were six tables

UCW Have Quilting
Mrs. Lawrence Barker was
hostess to Zion UCW on Wed-
nesday afternoon. The program
was in charge of Mrs. Charles
Roney, who opened the meet-
ing with an Easter poem and
the hymn, "When I Survey the
Wondrous Cross." Mrs. Ross
Pepper read the Easter Scrip -
tare message, Mrs. Norman
Bushfield and Mrs. Jas. Stat-
ton gave Easter readings. Mrs.
Bert Mahaffy read a chapter'
from the study book on Trini-.,
dad. The hymn, "Never Fur-
ther Than Thy Cross" and
"Father of Peace" were sung. ,
Mrs. Dalton Malcolm took
charge of routine business. It
was decided to have a sale of
plants and other items at the.
next meeting, 'which will be
held in the church. Mrs. Nor-
man Bushfield was presented
with a gift by Mrs. Lloyd Bar-
ker on behalf of the society on
the occasion of Mr. and Mrs.
Bushfield's 40th wedding anni-
versary.
,The ladies quilted during the
afternoon and lunch was serv-
ed by Mrs. Barker, 'assisted by
the committee, Mrs. Lloyd Bar-
ker and Mrs. James Statton.

The Fireside Fellowship group
of First Church met Tuesday
evening at the residence of Mr.
and Mrs. Harry, Cuming. F. R.
Cosford presided '.over a pro=
gram which included the Scrip-
ture lesson by Mrs. R: X. Mc-
Farlane and 'prayer by Rev. D.
Q. Fry. Janet Cluff, the treas-
urer, reported 4210.63 balance.
Rev. D. O. Fry was- in charge
of a discussion dealing with
ways and; means of making the
church services, more attractive.

Mrs. Curring for their hospi-
tality. -

The UCW of Cavan Church,
Winthrop, held their regular
April meeting with Mrs. Geo.
Case presiding. The sixth chap-
ter, entitled,' "The Chosen Peo-
ple," from "God and His . Pur-
pose," was given 'in two parts,
by Mrs. Percy Dalton .and Mrs.
Mervin Godkin.
Reports from the Presbyter-
ial were given by Mrs. William
Dodds, Mrs. Aaron Jantzi and
Mrs. Arnold Scott. Scriptures
were read by Mrs. Lorne El-
liott, followed by prayer by
Mrs: Everett Beuerman. The
mission study, "Personal glimp-
ses and personal records of
men," was given by Mrs. Harry
Rapson.
The Easter thankoffering
meeting is to be held Wednes-
day,- April 21, as a joint meet-
ing with the UCW and CGIT
girls,. with Mrs. George Michie
as guest speaker..
