IF HE POPS THAT
QUESTION
DEAR DORIS—I love a boy
very much and he says he loves
me. Quite often" in the past
few weeks when I've been with
him he'll say my name; then
I'll ask him what. he wants and
,he always says: "Never mind,
I'll ask you later on."
If he does finally pop the
question, I was wondering:
1. What side should father
walk of the bride?
2. Does bride need wedding
gown if she's got a nice suit
or dress?
NOT TOO SURE
DEAR NOT TOO —Is your
motto "Be prepared!"?
1. This is optional. Usually
the left side.
2. No. You can just grab
him and run! — unless, after
more sober thought, you want
your wedding day to stand out
in memory, and in .pictures
you'll `prize.'' -'

A JOYOUS
CHRISTMAS TO YOU
To you our customers, at this very
;festive season, we wish all blessings.
DEAR DORIS—Shortly after
marriage my husband was un-
employed for.a time so we mov-
ed in with •an old bachelor
(about 60) to help him run his
farm. He was always kind • to
us and the kids.
Now we have our own home.
He visits us sometimes, brings
toys for the kids. Drops in any
old time. Sometimes drives
me to a church meeting ,, dur-
ing the day. ,
But what floors me is, some
of the churchwomen are mak-
ing sly remarks about me and
him. The funniest part is, I
don't run around. I love my
husband -dearly.
I have started to hate this
nice old gentleman.
ONLY TWENTY-SEVEN
DEAR ONLY —• Snide re-
marks from churchwomen be-
lie their religion. I'd suggest a
heart - to heart. talk between
you and the minister. Also a
I'aW2ve?'s' letter: '.. Gossips -"can`t'
just defame character with im-
punity.
DEAR DORIS — I am a ner-
vous wreck when with a boy.
As an example: This boy
was standing near a candy ma-
chine. I was so horribly nerv-
ous my hand was shaking. I
nearly threw the coin down the
wrong slot.
' Once I was drinking a bottle
of pop, and I started to tough
and choke until I thought I'd
choke to death!
People say nervousness
comes from not being sure of
oneself. What I can't under-
stand is why I'm not sure of
myself. Should I get a pre-
scription for tranquilizers, or
what?
NERVOUS WRECK
DEAR WRECK — Sex is
rearing its lovely head, and
hitting you between the eyes.
Teen-agers are seldom sure of
themselves -- although some
may look the part while they
quake inwardly.
An understanding of what to
do, how ' to meet new chal-
lenges about dates and sex
and social life, is the best kind
of tranquilizer.
I'm sending you my "Young
People's Reading List," which
is available to anyone writing
in for it. .

friends and neighbors attended.
A reading was given by Miss

enjoyed by all who attended.
Miss Marjorie Agar gave the
address. The gifts were carried
by Cathy's sisters, friends and
"Dear Cathy: The news has
come our way, that you are
going to be a wife for Ray.
When you were little, catching
a bus, we couldn't imagine you
getting into this rush. We knew
you would become some lucky
man's dream, when you were
the school's beautiful queen.
Now that you are nearly a
teacher, remember to treat your
pupils like creatures. Remem-
ber not to burn the meat, and
keep your house very neat.
"Now, if yiiu don't get •along
with him, here's a sure method
to get rid of him: (1) Forget to
get up in the morning; (2) Leave
your hair in rollers; (3) Burn
his eggs to a crisp; (4) Forget to
wash his shirts. Of course, if
you want to keep him, , ignore
the above advice. Now, Cathy,
