Emer- son Mitchell presided for the business. The treasurer's re- port, given by Miss Ethel Den- nis, showed a balance of $1$7.42. During the year more shelves had been put in, the chf'mney removed and roof repaired; al- so the foundation levelled. Mrs. Torrance Dundas gave her report, showing 29 yearly members and eight part-time. Circulation of county library books for the year was 2,313— fiction 929, non-fiction 106, juv- enile 1,278. In July, 150 books were re- ceived from Goderich and plac- ed in the library. These have been of value to the circulation. Books received in the Decem- ber exchange were: Canadian Authors, 25; fiction, 112; non - 'fiction, 20; juvenile, 81; • kinder- garten, , high school, 2Ir`; makin a t al of 315. The same . officers were re- elected: Ch 'rman, Emerson Mitchell; librarian, Mrs. Tor- rance Dundas; secretary -treas- urer, Miss Ethel Dennis; audi- tor, Leonard Leeming. Rev. A. Higginbotham moved to adjourn the meeting, sec- onded by Andrew Coutts. The library has just received a new exchange of books. Now is the time to join and become a member for the year. UCW Unit Meets The Christmas meeting of the lt7h and Boundary Unit UCW of Duff's United Church was held at the home of Mrs. John Bruce, Seaforth. The roll call was answered by thirteen members, 'and there were three visitors present. Mrs. Albert Clarke was in charge of the ' meeting which was opened with tlie singing of Hymn 502. Mr. and Mrs. William Dins- more and Bruce, of Brampton, with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Mc - Gavin over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Porter visited with relatives in Lon- don on Saturday. The group studying the adult book, "God and His Purpose," have withdrawn their meetings until after Christmas. The annual CGIT Vesper service will be held in the church Sunday evening, Dec. 27th. Mr. Donald Buchanan left last week for Calgary, where he will visit with his sister, Mrs. C. C. Huffman, Mr. John Williamson has re - turned home after being con- fined to Listowel Memorial Hos- pital. Mr. and Mrs. Ranton Mitchell, of Carlingford, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Leeming last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Marks visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Marks, Exe- ter.
