The book fair proved a great
success again this year. Many,
many books were sold. I think
many, many students are burn-
ing the midnight oil reading
their volumes. The fair was ex-
tended two days, ending Tues-
day instead of Friday, and will
undoubtedly be back next year,
including the same wide range
of books. This year there seem-
ed to be every type imaginable,

One girl aged 11 wanted a

DEAR DORIS, — I have •a

I left him a couple of times

Before marriage he treated

A new facet has been added
to the school library itself, in
the form of French books — in
French, eople! The books are
there to promote a deeening un-
derstanding of French (in the
hopes of raising marks in that
subject, of course) through
reading entertaining stories
without detailed study.

Last Friday was candid
camera day at school. Pictures
are a wonderful way to capture
the funny, sometimes hilarious,
happenings • at. school. Anyone
who's had that yearning to
catch one of the staff members
in the act of breaking a test-
tube or whirling objects around
on a string (to demonstrate
centripetl force) had the chance
Friday. Students with a knack
for photography, or students
with just a knack for catching
people in laughable moments,
brought their cameras. The year
book staff intends to buy any
pictures that would do for the
yearbook. -

Clubs around the school have
become more active lately. The
junior and senior math clubs
are forming; the Glee Club is
adding to its repertoire of
songs, under the direction of
Nancy Berger, and the curling
club is getting its brooms and
boots in shape. The curling
club, especially now that win-
ter seems to really have set in,
is whirling about, making plans,
etc. • It has always been a ra-
ther small club, but its mem-
bers are surprisingly good curl-
ers and avid fans of that sport.
