Available. at Phone 527-0240 --w Seaforth 1 rsmi�f�' Youth1WinS H Achievement Award A20 -year-old RR 2, Kippen youtKen Gemmell, was awarded the Elston Cardiff Citizenship Trophy at the 17th annual Huron County 4-H Achievement Night at the Dis- trict High School in 1v'fligham Friday night. The event was the climax of the year's activities in 25 clubs by 372 4-H members -52 of them being girls. According to, [ D. S. Pullen, Clinton, Huron County's assistant agricultural ' representative, who directed the 1964 program, there was a 92.8%n completion of the 471 projects undertaken. Mr. Pul- len was assisted in his work by 54 voluntary club leaders from across the county. Mr. Gemmell, the son of Mr. and Mrs., Robert Gemmell, was deemed by nomination to be the outstanding all-round 4-11 member. His contribution to home and community activities also played a part in hiscap- turing the top trophy of the year.- A member of the Sea - forth Junior Farmers Club, he has completed in all 16 441 projects. Friday night for the third time in six years, Hon. Charles S. MacNaughton, Exeter, On- tario's Minister of Highways, presented his trophy for the highest 4-H score in Huron County -to a member of the Ross Marshall family of Kirk - ton. Sixteen -year-old Irish Mar- shall, who won the MacNaugh- ton .trophy in 1962, was again presented with itthis year. Her score was 974, out of 'a pos- sible 1,000 points. With a score of 910, Kathy Dale, RR 1, Clinton, age 13, was awarded the Warden's No Oce Trophy as the novice 4-11 member obtaining the highest standing. This presentation was made by the Warden of Huron County, Ralph Jewell, reeve of Colborne Township. Jim Harding, RR 1, Gorrie, who two years ago showed great promise when he won the novice trophy, Friday night took two top awards. For hay- ing the highest score in 4-11 Swine Clubs, he captured the Marvin Howe trophy and the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce wrist watch.
