The November meeting of the
Catholic Women's League was
held in the parish halL with a
representative attendance. Mrs.
Joseph Shea, the president' op-
ened the meeting with the
League Prayer and the singing
of "0 Canada." The minutes
and correspondence were read
by the secretary, Mrs. Tom But-
ters. The treasurer; Mrs: 'Jas.
Delaney, gave the financial re-
port.
Mrs. Joseph Delaney gave an
interesting reading on "Cour-
age," The final plans for the
turkey bingo Nov. 27, were

completed. The mystery prize
was won by Mrs. Hans Vonk.
The entertainment part of
the meeting was then turned
over to' Mrs. Hans Vonk and
Mrs. Herman Van Bakel, who
gave an interesting outline of
their recent visit to Holland.
They also showed photos of
some of the outstanding high-
lights there. Mrs. Harold Meag-
her thanked the guest speak-
ers.
The closing prayer was said,
followed by "God Save the
Queen." Lunch was served by
the ladies in charge.

UNIT TWO, NORTHSIDE UCW
Unit Two of Northside Unit-
ed Church Women met at the
home of Mrs. George Addison.
The, president, Miss Gladys
Thompson, opened the meeting
by giving a reading on "Peace,"
followed with the Lord's Prayer
in unison. Mrs, William Leem-
ing took charge of the devo-
tional. period, beginning the
same with the singing of hymn,
"0 Master, Let Me Walk With
Thee." and the reading of the
scripture lesson. Different ways
of serving God .were outlined,
and how we influence others.
She then offered prayer.
Mrs. William Turnbull, who
represented the church at Al-
ma College Women's Confer-
ence, St. Thomas, in August,
was the guest speaker. She
said that discussion groups were
held and interesting speakers
from overseas mission fields
were heard, including Rev. Itoko
Watambe, of the United Church
of Japan. She closed her talk
by having all repeat the 23rd
Psalm in unison. Mrs. • Harold
Hugill expressed the thanks.
The president gave a reading
on, "What's My Business?"

Historical displays telling
about the early days in Huron
County in the Bayfield area will
be shown at the second meet-
ing of the Huron County His=
torical Society, to be held Mon -
i day in the Anglican Parish Hall,
Bayfield, at 8 p.m.
The special guest speaker will
be Dr. J. J. Tolman, librarian
f.at the -University of Western
Ontario. Mrs. W. D. Mack, of
Crediton, president, will be in
charge of the program which
has been prepared by the mem-
bers in the Bayfield and Gode-
rich area. The conveners of'
the various projects will report
and also the constitution will
be presented to the members.
Everyone interested in the
society are invited to attend
the meeting.

Bayfield
An application to incorporate
Bayfield as a village will be
heard at a public hearing to be
conducted in the village by the
Ontario Municipal Board next
-Thursday. - - --
A Bayfield ratepayers associ-
ation committee was authorized
in August to proceed with in-
corporation of 1,176 acres of
land. '
The hearing will be held in
the village hall at Bayfield:
Included in the boundaries
proposed for incorporation In
the village are sections of both
Goderich and Stanley Town-
ships. Goderich Township said
it would oppose annexation of
its lands.
The ratepayers' association
claims a total paid membership
of 504.

Mrs. Mary Ross and her
daughter, Mrs. Charlie Baillie,
of Kirkton, visited a day last
week with Mr. and Mrs. Herb
Kercher and Ross. On Sunday,
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Jordan, of
London, also visited.
