at the double -ring ceremony.
The organist was Mr. James
Jordan and -the soloist, Mrs.
Snelling, of Windsor, sang
"Wedding Prayer" and "The
Lord's Prayer."
The bride, given in"marriage
by her father, chose a floor -
length gown of peau de faille,
featuring lilypoin Sleeves and
a shallow stoop 'neckline. The
sheath skirt, was appliqued'
with French Guipure lace, and
a bouffant overskirt extended

anotis and polished ivy com-
pleted her ensemble.
The bride was attended by
Miss Janie Boshart, as maid of
honor, and Miss Mary Jean
Boshart, sisters of the pride,
and Mrs. John Menheere, as
bridesinaids, They wore simi-
lar gowns of gold silk honan,
and carried cascade, b_onquets
of queen Elizabeth yellow ros-
es andbronze mums. The
flower -girls, Debbie and Linda
Snelling, wore dresses similar
to the bridesmaids, and carried
baskets of yellow Sweetheart
roses and baby mums.
Joseph Uniac, of Mitchell,
was best man, and ushers °were
Glenn Kelis, of. Mitchell, and
Bill 'Boshart, of Seaforth.
• A reception was held in the
church parlors following the
ceremony. For a wedding trip
to Northern Ontario, the bride
donned an ivory silk shantung
dress with matching jacket;
navy accessories and a corsage
of white orchids. Mr. and Mrs.
McDermott will live in London.
Guests were present from
Windsor, Sarnia, Whitby, St.
Catharines and Waterloo.

Brohagen, in a ceremony in St.
Johns Anglican Church, Pres-
ton, recently. The Rev. C. Ladds
officiated. • Organist for the oc-
casion was Mr. Eric Dewedney,
and soloist was Mr. John Fran -
con. „
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride chose a floor -
length gown of cloud white silk
taffeta, featuring a sabrina neck-
line outlined with organza ap-
pliques, moulded bodice with
elbow -length sleeves, full skirt,
detailed with organza appli-
ques, flowing into a chapel
train. Her headpiece, a bandeau
of matching material encrusted
with pearls, held her shoulder -
length French illusion veil. She
carried a bouquet of white glad-
ioli and white Sweetheart ros-
es.
Mrs. Warren Sholdice, of
Scarboro, was matron of honor,
and Mrs. Roger Parkinson, ' of
Galt, and Mrs. John 'ranson, of
Oshawa, sisters of the bride,
were bridesmaids. They wore
identical sheath dresses of
aqua shantung. The detachable
overskirt featured the new
short front, dipping to a longer
line in the back. They wore
matching bandeaus enhanced
with short nylon net veils, and
carried bouquets of white glad-
ioli and white feathered carna-
tions.
Mr. Warren Stauch, of Kit-
chener, was best man, and
guests were ushered by Mr.
William Arbuckle, brother of
the groom, arid Mr. Roger Park-
inson, Galt.
A reception was held at the
home of the bride's parents.
The mother' of the bride re-
ceived in •a sheath dress of
blush pink peau de soie with a
bodice of white alcon lace with
matching pink accessories. A
corsage of pink Sweetheart ros-
es completed her ensemble. The
mother of the groom, assisted,
wearing a Champagne beige
dress of silk organza over taf-
feta with matching 'brown ac-
cessories. Her corsage was yel-
low Sweetheart roses.
Mr. and Mrs. Arbuckle will
reside at 2303 Eglington Ave.

Labor Day Shoot Attracts
Big Entry At Kippen
Harry Mathers, of Exeter,
won the Kippen 'Gun Club
handicap trophy at the Labor
Day shoot at Kippen, Sunday,
,with a score of 47 out of 50.
Runners-up were Charles Park-
inson, London, and John An-
derson, of Hensall, with 46.
The five -man team trophy was
won by the Kippen Gun Club.
They obtained 124 of a pos-
sible 125 points. Members of
the team were Mathers, Parkin -
),son, Anderson and.: Lloyd, In-
gersoll, and John Wigle, Lon-
don, Runner-up was the Kitch-
ener team with 112 points.
Mr. and Mrs. James Pitman,
Robert and Brian, of England,
are spending a few weeks at
the home of the latter's parents,
Rev. and Mrs. Ivor Bodenham.
Larry Robinson is visiting
two weeks with his grandpar-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Lawr-
ence, of Moose Jaw, Sask., who
intend returning with Larry
shortly, to spend a vacation
with their daughter and son-in-
law, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Robin-
son and family.
Mr. Tony Van Loon is visit-
ing a few days in Coopertown,
NX., with his sister, Mrs.
Josephine Tinenberg.

On Saturday afternoon, a
shower was held at the home
of Bonnie Barker for her cou-
sin, Donna Barker. Gloria Ann
Pepper took charge of the pro-
gram, which started with a sing-
song, led by Wanda Moore. Two
contests were played and the
prizes were given back to the
bride. Next on the program
was a relay with chiclets and
oven mitts. Ethel Mitchell play-
ed a musical selection and an
other contest was played en-
titled, "Unscramble the Honey -
mon Items."
The bride was aided in op-
ening gifts by Betty in Bon-
nie Barker, while Gloria Ann
Pepper and Wanda Moor ,t made
a bridal bonnet cif bows. Help-
ers for the shower were Gloria
Ann Pepper, Audry Annis, Wan-
da Moore and Bonnie Barker.

wrist, which she suffered' in a
fall when she slipped and fell
at Canadian Canners, Exeter.

Approximately fifty ladies
gathered on Saturday evening
to honor Miss Dorothy Ross
prior to her September wed-
ding, which was held at the
home of Mrs. Wallace Ross.
The evening was spent in con-
tests and musical numbers.
Dorothy, Mrs. Ross, and Mrs.
Rock were seated in gaily dec-
orated chairs and corsages
were then pinned on. Mrs. Ray-
mond Crayne read the address
and gifts were presented to
Dorothy by Brenda Ross, Karen
Driscoll and Evelyn Crayne,
When Dorothy opened all the
lovely gifts, she very gracious-
ly thanked the ladies for their
kindness. The gifts were dis-
played, and a tasteful lunch
was then served.
A miscellaneous shower was
given by Miss Joyc'e Rock in
Brodhagen Community Centre
on Sept. 5, in honor of Miss
Dorothy Ross. The evening was
spent in contests.
Dorothy, Mrs. Ross and Mrs.
Rock were called forward and
were seated in decorated chairs.
Gifts were Kesented to Doro-
thy by Sharon and .Judy Rock.
Dorothy thanked the ladies for
their hospitality. A delicious
lunch was served.
