Phone 24 Hensall - Ladies' Aid Has Meeting The Ladies' Aid of First Pres- byterian Church held their Sep- tember meeting in the church hall on Tuesday afternoon, when the Dale-Dorrance group was in charge. There were 30 ladies present. The president, Miss Jean Scott, was in the chair and call- ed on Mrs: N. R. Dorrance to read two poems, which were enjoyed. Mrs. W. E. Butt gave a detailed treasurer's report, after which a hymn was sung. Mrs. Hal Whyte read the Scrip- ture lesson from the first chap- ter of Genesis, which had been requested, Mrs. Ada Dale led in prayer and Mrs. Reg Kers- lake read the minutes. Mrs. R. K. McFarlane read letters of appreciation. A short discus- sion on the bazaar was held. Mrs. Douglas 0. Fry sang a solo which was enjoyed, and was accompanied by Mrs. J. A. McGregor. Mrs. Barbara Sykes recited . three of her own poems. Mrs. W. C. Bennett, of Clin- ton, was the guest speaker and gave a story of a trip to the American West, which she and her husband had taken recent- ly. She also showed pictures of the desert and lovely homes in Palm Springs, as well as local scenes in and around Clinton.
