Nelson Reid and Mrs. Clarence Martin, conveners for Home Economics, had charge of the following program: Two piano duets by Carolyn- and Di- anne Fraser; Mrs. Martin gave -the motto, "Even if you are on the right track, you get run ov- er if you sit there." Mrs. Gor- don McGavin gave a report from the Food Forum commit- tee meeting she attended in Clinton. Mrs. Alvin McDonald gave a reading, "Bessie's Boil." A solo by Mrs. Neil MeGavin was enjoyed. A film on "Horn of Plenty," illustrating . the picking and processing of fresh Canadian fruits. A very successful clearing auction sale was held in the Walton Community Hall last Saturday afternoon, when the store and contents, owned- by the late W. C. Hackwell, were disposed of with Ross H. Destroyed Fire destroyed a barn belting- ing to James Williamson last Wednesday evening. Lost in the blaze were farm implements, hens, a- large number -of pigs and the season's crop of hay and grain. Threshing was in - progress when the fire was dis- covered. There remained just one load of grain to thresh.
