ton, was groomsman, and Mr.
Clarence McNichol, Clinton, and
Mr. Alex Glanville, of Walton,
were the ushers.
A reception was held follow-
ing the ceremony in the church
parlors. Guests were present
from Detroit, London, Holland,
Seaforth, Walton and Clinton.
For travelling, the bride
changed to a yellow suit with
white accessories and a corsage
of blue tinted carnations. Mr.
and Mrs. McNichol will reside
in Harpurhey.

'Miss Linda Borys was flower -
girl. The attendants wore street
length dresses of yellow or-
ganza over taffeta, and carried
cascades of daisies.
Mr. Jerome Bastian, of Bride -
port, was groomsman, and the
guests were ushered by Mr. W.
Smolanski, Kitchener, and Mr.
A. Hill, Kitchener. Master Mur-
ray Bastian, was ringbearer.
Following a reception at
Cedar Grove Lodge,• the bride
and groom left for • a honey-
moon in Washington, D.C., and
points west. The bride wore a
blue linen suit with black ac-
cessories and a corsage:9 pink
carnations. Upon their return,

lovely wedding Saturday, Aug.
15, at 3:30 p.m., when Sharon
Elizabeth' Scruton, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Scruton,
Port Dover, formerly of Hen -
sail, became the bride of Gor-
don Wayne Roberts, son of Mr.
and Mrs. G...M. Roberts, RR 3,
Simcoe. Rev. H. Gray Rivers,
of Burlington, Ont., performed -
the double -ring ceremony amid
a floral background of gladiolus
and daisies. Mrs. Ella Craig,
Port Dover, provided wedding
music° and accompanied the
soloist, Mr. John McKinley, who
sang "The Wedding Prayer"
and "I'll Walk Beside You."
Given In marriage by her
father, the bride- wore a gown
of faille taffeta with long lily -
point sleeves and Italian scoop
neckline, fragile. Chantilly lace
worked into a lattice effect
punctuated by tiny bows on the
controlled skirt finds its own
echo on the scalloped lace edg-
ing' of the detachable train. A -
pillbox of white taffeta held an
carried a bouquet of white orch

orchids with stephanotis and
ivy.
'Maid of honor, Miss Margaret
Sturgeon, of Port Dover, was
gowned in blue chantung sheath
with overskirt,with a blue 'pill-

Bridesmaids, Mrs. K. L. Stil-
wel, Hamilton, sister of the
bride, and Miss Marilyn Ro-
berts, Port Dover, sister of the
groom, were gowned identically
as the maid of honor.
John Marsh, Port Dover, was
best man, and John Roberts,
brother of the groom, and Mur-
ray Scruton, brother of the
bride, ushered guests.
For the reception held at
Cove Room, Erie Beach Motel,
for 90 guests, the bride's mother
wore a two-piece suit of dusty
pink silk shantung •and match-
ing accessories, with corsage of
dusty pink • carnations. The
groom's mother chose a blue
sheath ' of shantung and lace
jacket with matching accessor-
ies with which she wore a cor-
sage of pink Sweetheart roses.
For their honeymoon to New
England States; the bride wore
a three-piece suit- of' silk 'Wor-
sted in coffee shade and dark
brown accessories. They will
reside at RR 3, Simcoe.
Guests were present from
Brantford, Hamilton, Burling-
ton, Simcoe, Dresden, Kitchen-
er, Jarvis, Newmarket, Streets-
ville, Clinton and Hensall.
Guests from Hensall were Mr.
and Mrs. P. L. McNaughton, Mr.

OLSQN--DILLING
Rev. H. F. Currie officiated
at the wedding ceremony in
Hensall United Church, Satur-
day, August 15, at 5 p.m., when
Wilma Bernice filling, Hensall,
exchanged marriage vows with
Allan Theodore Olson, of Lon-
don, amid a floral setting of
yellow • and white gladiolus,
ferns and candelabra. The bride
is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. C. Wilbert billing, Hen -
sail, and the groom is the son
of Mrs. Emil T. Olson and the
late Mr. Olson, Granvenhurst.
Mr. James A. Townshend,
London, provided wedding mus-
ic and accompanied the solo-
ist, Mr. Arthur Dance, London,
whon sang "The Wedding Pray-
er" and "The Lord's Prayer."
A floor -length, gown of white
French peau de faille was worn
by the bride, who was given
in -marriage by her father. The
bodice was highlighted by a
shallow scooped neckline and
elbow -length sleeves. The gent-
ly controlled bell skirt was
caught in tiny pleats at either
side of the waist. A detachable
chapel train cascaded from the
waist, and delicate French gui-
pure lace appliques enhanced
the bodice and skirt. A French
pure silk illusion fingertip veil
was caught up by a wedding -
band headpiece of peau de
faille, touched with appliques
of guipure lace, and she car-
ried a cerscent bouquet of white
carnations, yellow roses and ivy.
Miss Connie Olson, Toronto,
sister of the groom, as maid
of honbr, wore a cocktail dress
of sapphire blue crystal charm.
A shallow scooped neckline and
also elbow -length'' sleeves made
way for the controlled bell
skirt. She wore a matching
sapphire blue three'- -
petaI•Ied
headpiece, accented by a cock-
tail veil, and carried a cascade
bouquet of . yellow carnations.
Mr. Felix Atance, London, at-
tended the groom, and Dr.
Michiel• Leenders, London, and
Mr. Clarence billing, Sarnia,
brother of the bride, ushered
guests.
For the reception held in the
church parlors, the bride's
mother chose a heavenly blue
chantung dress with navy and
white' accessories and corsage
of white carnations. T h e
groom's mother chose a gold
chantung with brown accessor-
ies and corsage of brown chrys-
anthemums.
For travelling, the bride
changed to a yellow linen suit
with brown accessories, with
which she wore a corsage, of
green eymbidium orchids. They
will reside in London.
The bride is a graduate of
London Teachers' College and
University,.. of Western Ontarjp.
The groom is a graduate of
Queen's University, Kingston,
and the University of Birming-
ham, England.
Prior to marriage the bride
was feted at several functions.
Miss Pat Brown, London; was
hostess for a shower. The staff
of Ryerson Public School, Lon-
don Elementary School, and
Home Economics teachers held
presentations. A miscellaneous
shower was held in ` Hensall
United Church, and Mr. and
Mrs. Wilbert billing entertain-
ed the bridal party at their
home, Friday evening following
rehearsal..
SLOAN—PARKINSON
St. Paul's Church, Allist,
decorated with pink carnations,
was the setting for the double -
ring ceremony of Donna Marie
Parkinson and Patrick Stephen
Sloan. The bride is the daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Park-
inson, Alliston, and the bride-
groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. J. E. Sloan, Seaforth.
Rev. P. L. Cahillj, of Stayner,
officiated.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride entered the
church to the strains of the
processional hymn; "Praise My
Sour the King of Heaven," play-
ed by her uncle, C. M. Hilliker,
Tillsonburg. Her floor -length
gown was of imported emboss-
ed chiffon over taffeta, the bod-
ice styled with a bateau neck-
line and elbow -length sleeves.
The controlled bell skirt was
accented with a split chapel
train attached at the waistline
with a bow, A. single rose,
matching her dress, held her
bouffant veil, and she carried
a bouquet of white roses and
stephanotis,
Miss Elizabeth Parkinson, of
Alliston, was maid of honor for
her sister, and bridesmaids
were, Miss Glenna Walkom and
Mrs, c Donald Valley, both of
Barrie. Their floor - Iength
gowns, were of similar import-
ed embossed chiffon over taf-
feta in shell pink. A match-
ing pink velvet bow hat was
worn and- each carried a bou-
quet of white Shasta daisies and
stephanotis. -
Dr. Joseph Murray, Montreal,
was best man, and the ushers
were Joseph Jursa and James
Parkinson, both of Toronto.,
Following . the wedding, a
garden reception was held at
the home of ,the bride's parents
in Alliston. The 'bride's mother,
who received, chose a dress of
two-tone beige cotton lace over
taffeta with matching accessor-
ies and a corsage of Talisman
roses. The bridegroom's moth-
er 'tltsisted, wearing a blue
crepe - dress, white accessories
and a corsage of pink roses.
Congratulatory telegrams
were read from friends in San
Francisco and Prince Edward
Island. For their wedding trip,
Mr. and Mrs. Sloan motored to
Vancouver and Victoria, B.C.
For travelling the bride chose
a two-piece white and yellow
cotton lace ensemble over taf-
feta, yellow 'accessories and a
corsage of white roses. The
couple will reside at 44 St.
Peter St., Collingwood.
Prior to her marriage, the
bride was feted at a number of
events held in her honor. Mrs.
W. P. McLean and Mrs. William
Dance entertained at a tea and
shower at the former's home in
Collingwood; Mrs. Patricia Val-
ley at a shower at her home in
'Barrie; Mrs. Barbara Whitton
at a garden tea at her 'home -in
Collingwood, and -Miss Margar-
et Hurst at a dinner party at
her home in Collingwood. Mrs.
C. W. Parkinson held a trous-
seau tea for her daughter at
her home in, Alliston. The tea
table was decorated with silver
candle holders and white tapers
and centred with an arrange-
ment of pink and white asters.
Tea was poured by Mrs. Rus-
sell Peart, of Guelph, and Mrs.
C. J. Fitzgerald, of 'Alliston.

ed with a Sabrina neckline, ap-
pliqued with seed pearls and

ed in lily -points. The full skirt
had a side detail of nylon and
sheer net with motif of French
lace. Her headdress was a tiara
of pearls holding her bouffant
petal veil, and she carried a
cascade bouquet of pink .Sen-
sation roses and white carna-
tions.
Mrs. Sharon Gerber, Shake-
speare, sister of the bride, was
matron of honor in a pale blue
bemberg organza gown styled
with scoop neckline and cap
sleeves, with lace insertion at
the waistline. The controlled
skirt had a back detail of
French lace. Her pillbox head-
dress held a face veil, and she
carried a cascade bouquet of
white carnations and blue
Pinocchio pompons.
Dressed similarly -to the ma-
tron of honor and with bou-
quets of the same type were
the bridesmaids, Mrs. Roxie
Tally, 9 East Gore St., Strat-
ford, sister of the bridegroom,
and, Miss Susan Caslick, of the
nursing staff of St. Joseph's
Hospital, London.
Connie Osborn, sister of the
bridegroom, was flower -girl, in
a frock of white chiffon over
pale blue, styled with French
lace midriff and' cap sleeves,
and .carrying a basket 'arrange-
ment of flowers similar to those
carried by the senior attend-
ants,

er, and the best man was Wal-
