No. 8, McKillop (Man- ley School). Dining the afternoon the school gro.unds were -crowded as "old boys" recalled events in years gone beyond and enjoyed a program presented by pres- ent-day pupils. Later in the afternoon Supper was served at Brodhagen Community 'Hall, and in the evening friends of the school from a wide area joined with the visitors for a social and dancing. The oldest people at the re- union were George Diegel, Brodhagen, and Alex Mitchell, of Mitchell, both 91. The oldest woman was Mrs. Henry Whitti- son, London, whoa is in her 80's. Others on the stage during the presentation of prizes were Mrs. Joseph Matth.ew's;' Seaforth, and Mrs. August Hillebrecht. The youngest student on the grounds was Keith" Murray, aged.. -6, a pupil of grade 1. Former Teachers Ten formes' teachers attend- ed, the' oldest being Mrs.. Jim Wilson, the former Anna Shan- ahan, now • of Clinton, She taught at the school during the closing part of the' First World War and the years immediately following. Mrs. J. M. Eckert, who taught at the 'school near- ly 50 years ago, was unable to attend: Other former teachers pres- ent included Miss Anna Beer, Mrs. Joseph Melady, Mrs. Dick . Box, Ross -Merrill Mrs. • Joseph McLaughlin, Mrs, Jerome Mur- ray .and Mrs. Ed Sherbarth. Speaking at t e opening of the afternoon program were: Reeve Ken Stewart, of McKil- lop; J. Man- ley; Alvin Elligsen, chairman of the board of school trus- tees, and chairman' for the pro- gram; Frank Murray and Nor- man - Beuermann, the . other members, of the trustee board, and A. Y. McLean, Seaforth. Pupils Perform Highlighting the afternoon program, in charge of the teach- er, Mrs. ,George Coville, Dub- lin, " were three numbers sung by the juniorgrades, a Charles- ton by the " senior grades, a square dance by grades one and two, and a performance by The Beatles -in this instance Dar- lene and Margaret Elligsen and Sharon and Linda Diet) Other numbers presented by the pupils included: step dance, Janice and Darwin Dietz; piano solo, Larry Murray; duet, Shar- on Dietz and Margaret Ellig- sen; guitar duet, Sheila- and Gary Dietz; piano duet, Joanne Elligsen and Paul Horan; baton twirling, Margaret Elligsen, Sharon and Janice Dietz; 'Bi- • cycle Built For -Two," Elizabeth Elligsen and Larry .
