On Thursday night the choir
of St. Andrew's United Church
made a presentation to Mrs.
Howard Finkbeiner and son,
Carl, prior to their departure
to Zurich. Miss Jean Ivison
read the address and Mrs. Ed-
gar McBride and Garry Ander-
son made the presentation. A
wall plaque was presented Mrs.
Finkbeiner, and a desk set to
Cart Contests were conducted
by Mrs. L. Finlayson' and Mrs.
L. Cooper. Joan Sinclair sang
and played her own accompani-
ment on the piano. Kenneth
and Grant Jones favored with
musical numbers. Lunch was
served.

Communion and Confirmation
on Palm Sunday at St. An-
drew's United Church was well
attended. The minister, Rev.
Howard K. Plant, took charge
of the service. An anthem,
"Ride On in Majesty" was sung
by the choir.

Vandals Break
Zion Windows
Vandals broke seven windows
at Zion. United Church in Hib-
bert Township early Saturday
'morning. The church is located
four. miles west of Mitchell on
Highway 8. Police foundmarks
of a car in the mud at the
rear of the- building where
someone -had parked. Most of
the broen windows were in
the basement,

Funeral services for the late
Mrs. William Blackwell, of Exe-
ter, formerly of Hensall district,
were held from Bonthron Fun-
eral Chapel on Monday of last
week, with Rev. S. E. Lewis,
minister of James Street Unit-
ed Church, Exeter, officiating,
with interment in Exeter ceme-
tery.
Pallbearers were George Tin-
ney, Ben Tinney, Jack Tinney,
Joe Lostell, Richard Wolfe and
Stanley Tenney.. --
MRS. LORNE McNAUGHTON
Funeral service S for the late
Mrs. Lorne McNaughton were
largely attended and were held
from Chiselhurst United Church
Wednesday, conducted by Rev.
H. F. Currie, minister of the
church.
Interment was in McTaggart's
cemetery. Pallbearers were Al-
vin Cole, Carl Stoneman, Jack
Brintnell, Jim McDougall, Tom
Drover and ROss Riley. Flower -
bearers were Leslie Riley, Stan
Zankowski, Alvin ,Crawford and
Ben Stoneman. ,
WILLIAM G. ROSS
William G. Ross, 90, of RR 1,
Londesboro, died Friday at his
home. He was a son, of the
late Mr. and. Mrs. Hugh...Ross,
and had farmed in Hullett
Township. He was a member
of Londesboro United Church.
His wife, the former Martha
Ann Adams, predeceased him.
Survivitt are two daughters,
Mrs. Walter (Margaret) Somer-
ville, Walton, and Miss Mary,
at home; and two sons, Wil-
liam, at home, and Thomas, of
Huntsville.
The funeral service was held
Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at theBall
and Mutch funeral home, Clin-
ton, with Rev. William Carson

William Henry, of Hensall, a
highly respected citizen . by all
who knew him, passed away in
Clinton Hospital Thursday in:
his 87th year. He was born in
Hibbert Township, County of
Perth.
Mr. Henry was a pioneer in
the Red Deer, Alberta district,
and also farmed - at Keeler,
Sask.,. and Kindersley, Sask. He
lived. for severpl years on an
Ontario farm, later retiring to
Hensall. He was 'a member of
Hensall United Church.
Mr. Henry leaves to mourn
his loss, his wife, the former
Harriet Cameron; one son,
Cameron,. London; one daugh-
ter, Mrs. D. C. Herne (Mar-
garet), St. Catharines, and three
grandsons, Cameron, Richard
and David.
Public funeral services were
held Saturday, March 21, from
the Bonthron Funeral Chapel,
Hensall, with- Rev. Harold Cur-
rie officiating, who paid fitting
tribute to his life. Interment
was in •Baird's cemetery. Pall-
bearers were Hugh Love, John
Jarrott, Robert Cameron, • Ita
Geiger, Alex Mustard and Jack
Henderson. •
