Three movie nights set for Lucknow Library Movie Series

Lucknow Library
The regular FREE movie
series at the Lucknow
Library will be resuming this
fall. As usual there will be a
wide range of movies showing.
Sept. 28 - Hologram for
the King starring Tom
Hanks. A comedy/drama
about a failed American
sales rep who looks to
recoup his losses by travel-
ling to Saudi Arabia to sell
his company's product to a
wealthy monarch.
Oct. 12 - Me Before You
starring Emilia Clarke. It is
the story a girl in a small town
who forms an unlikely bond
with a recently paralyzed
man she is taking care of.
Oct. 26 - I Saw the Light
starring Tom Hiddleston. Tells
the story of the country -west-
ern singer Hank Williams,
who in his brief life created
one of the greatest bodies of
work in American music. The
film chronicles his rise to
fame and its tragic effect on
his health and personal life.
All movies are free of
charge and play on Wednes-
days at 6:30 pm.
Huron -oriented 'The Pitch, The Catch' rural `Dragon's Den' event
Join in the fun and sup-
port rural innovators at the
inaugural The Pitch, The
Catch event coming to the
Belgrave Arena on Wednes-
day, Sept. 28.
The Pitch, The Catch event
takes place during the Rural
Talks to Rural Conference
from 5-6:30 p.m., but the
general public is invited to
join Conference participants
for this evening that prom-
ises to be exciting! We have
eight pitchers preparing to
pitch their best business
ideas to five catchers eager
to invest in growing the local
economy.
Our celebrity catchers will be
joined in the bullpen by rep-
resentatives from CIBC and
Libro and include:
John Marshall: John is an
entrepreneur and business
development professional
who has been successfully
helping companies meet
their potential for over 30
years.
John Graham: Having
worked in the banking com-
munity and running several
businesses over a number of
years, John remains a cau-
tious investor with an expert
eye and uncanny ability to
assess a business opportu-
nity quickly and accurately.
Darren Jack: Darren has
one of the most inventive
entrepreneurial minds in
Ontario business. Instead of
acquiring an existing oppor-
tunity and improving it,
Darren creates opportunity
from the ground up.
Jessica Lunshof: Jessica
is a graduate of York Univer-
sity with Honours degree in
Nursing. Transitioning
through many aspects of the
health care system and
driven by a personal passion
for facilitating positive inte-
grative health, have assisted
her in developing many
innovative concepts and
practices for holistic aging.
Martin Vanderloo:
Martin is the founder and
President of Huron Com-
modities Inc., of Clinton. He
and his wife Ellen have
grown the company from
start-up to what it is today,
active in the export of grain
and oilseeds from Canada
and the United States to
overseas markets in Europe,
Asia and the Americas.
Tickets are on sale now and
includes The Pitch/The Catch,
a Pig Roast catered by Car-
diff's BBQ Catering, a Keynote
Presentation from Canada's
newly crowned Young Farmer,
Amy Cronin, and local enter-
tainment during a post event
gathering.
A total of $5 from each
ticket sale will go towards
the 'People's Choice' Award

favourite entrepreneur/idea

Danceology sending nine dancers from across the region to Germany

"We have to go to
Toronto every Sunday for
the next two months to
polish and clean every-
thing," she said.
"It's going to be a lot of fun
driving down there for our
parents, she joked.
She said she's looking for-
ward to meeting all the
dancers from the world over.
"It'll be really cool to be in
the same place as all of
them," she said.
Teegan McGavin, 16, of
Leadbury, said she was
taken aback when she heard
she made the east Canada
squad.
"I was really excited," she
said. " ... I didn't think I'd
make [the team] because it is
a really different thing to get
into."
Though winning would be
nice, for her it is all about the
experience of travelling to
Europe and to compete at
such a high level.

new experiences," she said.
"I've always wanted to travel
around and meet people
from all around the world.
It's going to be a really good
experience:'
Lucknow twins Kaitlyn
and Mikayla Dowler, both
15, said what makes Luc-
know's Danceology so spe-
cial that it will have nine dis-
ciples represented in this
competition comes down to
its teachers.
"Our teachers are so
amazing," said Mikayla, add-
ing that they have a lot of
"dance world experience" to
impart upon them.
"We have learned so much
from them," she said.
Kaitlyn also added that
there is something special
about being from a small
town.
"We're not in the big cit-
ies, so people don't really
know about us. So when we
go to competitions people
don't really expect us to do
as well as we do," Kaitlyn
said.
The team leaves for Ger-
many Oct. 21.

TAXES DUE REMINDER
The third instalment of the 2016 tax levy is due on
September 30, 2016. Tax payments must be received
at the municipal office by the due date. Tax payments
can be made in person at the municipal office, by
regular mail, or at the CIBC Goderich branch only.
Interac/debit card services are accepted at the office
as well as post-dated cheques for your convenience.
Telephone /internet banking is available through most
major banking institutions. Pre -authorized payment
is available by completing a form from the office and
providing a VOID cheque. You may also go online to
our website, complete and remit this form/void cheque
electronically. After hour payments may be left in the
letter slot located at the front door.
Taxes not paid by the due date are subject to interest of
1.25% per month. Failure to receive a tax notice does not
relieve the taxpayer from responsibility for payment
nor the liability of penalty charges for late payment.
