Libro Credit Union contributes $10,000 to Wingham Hospital campaign Libro Credit Union Prosperity Fund has donated $10,000 to the Wingham & District Hospi- tal's major redevelopment project. It is the mission of the Pros- perity Fund to invest locally in people, communities and pro- jects that drive prosperity. The donation to the Wingham & District Hospital was made as part of Libro's commitment to invest in rural development and revitalization. Libro branch manager Debbie Gammie has been a long time champion of the Wingham and District Hospital and hosted a "Sharing the Pie" event in hon- our of the donation on Sept. 1, 2016. "Hospitals are vital parts of rural communities and the upgrades to the facility will help our Hospital remain a strong community hub and economic driver for years to come," said Gammie, adding Libro is proud to share a piece of the prosperity "pie" with the the project. LUCKNOW NEWS It's Lucknow Fall Fair season in Lucknow Ruth Dobrensky The next week or so will be hectic around town, Lucknow's Fall Fair starts this Friday and it looks to be a good fair this year. There are a number of entrants in the ambassador competitions and there are events too numerous to men- tion in this column. You'll just have to get out to the fair and see how things go for yourself. Happy 80th birthday to Erlma Jean Haldenby who cel- ebrated this past weekend. Many happy returns Erlma. This past weekend was a busy one for the Parish of New Beginnings. Trinity in Blyth had their food booth at the Pioneer Threshers & Hobby weekend and several members of the former St. Peter's church here in Lucknow took part. This past Monday, St. Paul's - Trinity in Wingham held a fun- draising lasagna dinner headed up by yours truly. A good crowd showed up and all proceeds went to the Wingham Syrian Refugee Fund and to repairs to St. Paul's -Trinity Church. Next week is the 2016 Interna- tional Plowing Match over near Harriston, take it in if you can, it should be a good celebration of all things agricultural.
