Public Search
A free online tool available to
the public is being promoted by
the Huron County OPP as a way
to keep stolen property out of
the hands of innocent victims.
At this point it's not well known, but
the public now has limited access
to Canadian Police Information Cen-
tre (CPIC) database to see if a motor
vehicle or any other piece of prop-
erty has been reported stolen.
With the increasing popularity of
online auction sites and public
trade websites such as Kijiji, E -bay,
and other online classified groups
police are often asked to query
serial numbers of second-hand
items that have been purchased
or are about to be purchased.

The Lucknow Library hosted the
launch of Lucknow author, Mike
O'Neill's "Christmas Seasonings" book
for the first time in large print format on
Friday, Nov 25, 2016. Christmas Season-
ings is a collection of 14 heart-warming
short stories of ordinary people --past
and present --as they anticipate and cel-
ebrate the meanings of Christmas.
Brucedale Press has also reprinted
O'Neill's "Tooling Around" in large print
format just in time for holiday season.
O'Neill amused the audience with his
unique style from both books as well as
from new as yet unpublished works. In
between readings, Michael O'Neill
answered questions about his own writ-
ing process and from where he draws his
inspiration. O'Neill stated, with glint of
mischief in his eyes, that most of his sto-
ries are based in fact and of course out-
right lies. After all, it is fiction.
Both "Christmas Seasonings" and
"Tooling Around" will be available
locally. Currently they can be found at
