The vehicle was found just before 3 p.m. on Nov. 16, 2016. (Troy Patterson/Kincardine News and Lucknow Sentinel) Police find vehicle that plunged into Lake Huron off Kincardine's north pier Troy Patterson Editor Rescue crews the vehicle that was seen driving off Kin- cardine's north pier into Lake Huron and recovered the body of a 67 -year-old Kincardine woman. Search and rescue crews, with the help of a mobile crane, raised the vehicle before 3 p.m. on Nov 16, a day after South Bruce OPP were called about vehicle that had entered the waters of Lake Huron from the north pier of the Kincardine Harbour. South Bruce OPP said foul play was not suspected. The vehicle was seen being loaded on to a flatbed truck with a dented roof at about 3:30 p.m., when res- cue crews had dispersed. On Nov 15, witnesses at the scene said a vehicle was seen driving onto a grass mound and park bench, around both exist- ing and newly -installed barrier poles intended to block vehicu- lar traffic on Harbour Street from driving onto the pier. The vehicle was said to have then entered the water off the pier near the range light. Officers responded to the area with Bruce County par- amedics, Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services and members of the Saugeen Shores Fire Service. Using two Zodiac boats, emergency responders searched for the vehicle until sunset, and the search con- tinued Wednesday after- noon when the vehicle was found and removed with a mobile crane. POLICE BRIEF - HURON OPP Suzuki All - Terrain Vehicle (Atv) Stolen Huron County OPP officers are investigating the recent theft of a Suzuki ATV that was sto- len last week from a prop- erty located in Port Albert. Officers met with the victim on Friday, Nov. 11, 2016 where- upon they learned the ATV was stolen from the South Street property sometime between 10:30 p.m. on November 10th and 8:00 a.m. on Nov. 11. Sometime during this time frame those responsible entered onto the property and located the ATV parked in the laneway beside the residence. The keys were not with the vehicle so it is believed the thief pushed the vehi- cle off the property onto a trailer where it was subse- quently transported away. The ATV is described as a dark green, 4 -wheel drive 2007 Suzuki Eiger ATV with a 400 cc engine. The machine is valued is valued at approximately $3,500.
