Woodworking, jewelry, baked goods, plants, crafts and more were other items available by locals from the surrounding area. Organizers said they hope to support the Huron Hospice cam- paign over the next year, as it is a need in the community. Viera Muchova of Kincardine, had a wide variety of foods she mades from her native Slovakia. The organization also hosts regu- lar jam sessions at the Point Clark Community Centre, along with weekly cards, quilting and shuffle- board, and other dinner fundraisers. Rachel Van Rooyen supported her fellow vendors by buying some baked goods, while showcasing her jewelry. Man who washed ashore in Port Albert travelled from Alberta under assumed name The man whose body washed ashore in Port Albert on Oct. 15 is believed to have been travelling from Alberta to Ontario under the assumed name of "Mitchell Nelson." Through the course of the inves- tigation, Huron County OPP Crime Unit Investigators discovered pho- tos of the man taken in September by a journalist working in northern Ontario near Espanola. Police are asking for the public's assistance to identify the man and would like to speak to anyone who can help. The victim is described as a 30 -60 -year-old Caucasian male with an average to medium build, balding grey hair and a thin mous- tache. He was wearing a blue "Fluid" lifejacket, a black fleece - type pullover jacket, black wind pants with the letters "PEP on a shield and black Nike running shoes. Detachment Commander Inspector Younan said in a press release: "It is unfortunate we have to notify the next-of-kin in this manner, but we have no other option other than to seek help from the public in this instance." Huron OPP's James Stanley has been previously quoted estimating 1 1 1� the man to have been in his 50s or middle age. Investigators are hoping to speak with anyone that may have recently found an abandoned vessel, canoe or related marine/sporting equip- ment along the Lake Huron shoreline. Jeff Klassen/Soo Today Police are looking for information on a man going by the assumed name `Mitchell Nelson', whose body washed up on a beach north of Port Albert Oct. 15, 2016. HURON OPP Racing Charge Laid A young driver from Ripley has been charged with Racing following a traffic stop that took place on Oct. 24, 2016. Just before 1 p.m. a Huron County OPP officer spotted a Toyota Tun- dra pickup truck traveling east- bound on Amberley Road west of Lucknow at a high rate of speed. The officer confirmed his visual observations of the racing vehicle with a radar device and confirmed the speed of the truck to be trav- elling at a speed in excess of 140 km/h in the posted 80 km/h zone. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was subsequently charged. The 22 -year-old Ripley woman has been charged with "Race a Motor Vehicle" and has a court appearance scheduled for Dec. 6, 2016 at Provin- cial Offences Act Court in Goderich. Her driver's license is suspended for seven days and her company vehicle has been impounded for the week. Opp Investigating Crash West of Molesworth The Wingham driver involved in a single motor vehicle collision that took place earlier this moming west of Molesworth remains in hospital with serious but stable injuries. Initially his injuries were believed to be life- threatening however his injuries are no longer considered to be fife -threatening. Shortly before 8 a.m. Huron County OPP, Perth County Paramedic Services and Grey Township Fire Department personnel responded to the collision scene located on Jamestown Road just east of Adams Line. Investigators have since determined the driver was travelling eastbound on Jamestown Road when he began to fishtail on the gravel road surface. Police said he lost control of his vehicle and his Subaru Outback slammed into a tree on the south side of the road. The driver was able to escape from his vehicle before it caught on fire. The lone occupant, has been identi- fied as Jacob Collison, 20, of Wingham.
