NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING FOR OFFICIAL PLAN REVIEW
Pursuant to Section 17 of the Planning Act, R.S.O., 1990, the Township of Huron -Kinloss will hold a
Public Meeting to receive public input on the proposed Official Plan on:
June 27, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.
Huron -Kinloss Council Chambers (21 Queen Street, Ripley)
The subject property is the Township of Huron -Kinloss, and therefore a key map is not provided with
this notice.
The purpose and effect of this Official Plan is to guide the future of the Township to the year 2036. Key
changes to the Official Plan include:
a) Modifications to the settlement area boundaries and land use designations affecting some
properties within the Township's settlement areas. The proposed Official Plan will only apply to
lands located within the settlement areas. Lands located outside of the proposed settlement area
boundaries will be governed by the County of Bruce Official Plan;
b) To bring the Township Plan into conformity with the relevant policies and map schedules of the
Saugeen, Grey Sauble, Northern Bruce Peninsula and Maitland Valley Source Protection Plans in
accordance with Section 40 of the Clean Water Act;
c) Updated natural heritage mapping and policies in accordance with the Provincial Policy Statement;
d) Updated policies for second units, to comply with changes to the Planning Act; and
e) Designating a large, vacant area on the east side of Lucknow as a Special Policy Area for new
industrial development.
Further detail on the proposed Official Plan is available on the Township of Huron -Kinloss website at
http://huronkinloss.com/official-plan-review-2015.cfm or a hard copy is available for viewing at the
Township Office located at 21 Queen Street in Ripley.
Any person may attend the Public Meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in
support or in opposition to the proposed Official Plan. If you wish to be notified of the adoption of the
proposed Official Plan, you must make a written request to Sonya Watson, Clerk.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written
submissions to the Township of Huron -Kinloss before the proposed Official Plan is adopted, the
person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Council of the Township of Huron -
Kinloss to the Ontario Municipal Board.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written
submissions to the Township of Huron -Kinloss before the proposed Official Plan is adopted, the
person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario
Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to add the person
or public body as a party.

SECOND INSTALLMENT OF THE
2016 INTERIM TAX LEVY IS DUE
The second installment of the 2016 Interim tax levy is due on
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 1, 2016.
Taxes may be paid through pre -authorized payment, telephone/internet banking,
mailed to or at the Municipal Office, 21 Queen St., Ripley, office hours are 8:30 a.m. &
4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For your convenience, interac as well as postdated
cheques are accepted at the office. There is also an after hours
drop box located at the front of the office.
Taxes not paid by the due date are subject to interest charges of 1.25% per month.
Please ensure your payment is received in the office by the due date. When making
payment through Telephone/Internet banking & Teller/ABM payments please allow
minimum two (2) business days for payment to be received in the municipal office.
FAILURE TO RECEIVE A TAX BILL DOES NOT RELIEVE THE TAXPAYER FROM
THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR PAYMENT NOR THE LIABILITY OF PENALTY
CHARGES FOR LATE PAYMENT.
Any ratepayer who has not received a tax notice is advised to contact the
Township of Huron -Kinloss Municipal Office at (519) 395-3735 as soon as possible.
