CRICH, William Ronald "Ron" -
Passed away March 16, 2016 at Wingham
Hospital at the age of 66. He was the loved
husband of Donna (Bromley) for nearly 45
years. Ron was born in Seaforth, Ontario
on April 1, 1949 to the late Erma (Garrett)
and Alden Crich. Dear father of Rod & Joan
of RR2, Lucknow and Rob & Jan of
Bentley, Alberta. He will be missed by his
grandchildren Preston (Karissa), Spencer,
Nolan, Deneka, Kyle, Brayden, and Tristan.
Survived by his sister Ruth (Gord) Baxter of
Wingham, his mother-in-law Marie Bromley
of Blyth, in-laws Bev Bromley (Linda
Brindley) of Goderich, Doug Vincent of
Blyth, Steve (Joanne) Bromley of Goderich
and Dianne (Mike) Nicholson of Lucknow.
Predeceased by his Father-in-law Willis
Bromley and sisters-in-law Darlene & Jane.
A Private Funeral Service will be conducted
at MACKENZIE & MCCREATH FUNERAL
HOME, Lucknow. Interment Greenhill
Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy

HUNTER, William James "Jim" -
WWII Veteran, of Lucknow passed away
March 12, 2016 at Pinecrest Manor,
Lucknow at the age of 93. He is
predeceased by his beloved wife Isabel
(Nicholson) in 2013 and his dear daughter
Wanda in 2012. Jim was born April 24,
1922 to the late Selina Johnstone and
William O. Hunter, in Ashfield Township.
Left to mourn are his in-laws Donalda Smith
of Clinton and Ken & Joyce Nicholson of
Alliston, and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his siblings Alma
McKinnon, Lloyd Hunter, Lois McIntosh,
and Lorna Button. A Legion Branch 309
Service was held on March 16 at 6:30 PM
at MacKENZIE & McCREATH FUNERAL
HOME, Lucknow followed by visitation from
7 - 9 PM. The funeral Service was
conducted in the funeral home chapel
March 17, 2016 at 2:00 PM, with visitation
one hour prior. Pastor Brian Hymers
officiated and Ruth Alton was the organist.
Donations to the Legion Branch 309 Poppy
Fund were appreciated as expressions of

ELLIOTT, Earl Nelson - WWII Veteran,
passed away peacefully at home in
Wingham in the company of his wife of 69
years, June R. Elliott, on Monday March 14,
2016 in his 93rd year. He was born in
Detroit, Michigan on May 21, 1923 to the
late Peggy (Stanley) and Frank Elliott.
Happy memories were formed with his four
children and their spouses; Nancy Elliott -
Greenwood and Paul Greenwood of
Goderich, Stephen and Janice Elliott of
Blind River, Joyce and John Farrell of RR#2
Wingham and lan and Shari Elliott of
Horseshoe Valley. Earl will be dearly
missed by 11 grandchildren and 26 great-
grandchildren. Visitation was held at
MACKENZIE & MCCREATH FUNERAL
HOME, Ripley on Wednesday March 16,
2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A Funeral Service
was conducted from the chapel on
Thursday March 17, 2016 at 11 AM with
Pastor Henry Steenbergen officiating.
Spring interment Durham Rd. Baptist
Cemetery, Greenock Township. Donations
to the Purple Grove Community Centre or
Ripley Knox Presbyterian Church were
greatly appreciated as expressions of

MOWBRAY, Margaret Fern - beloved
wife of the late Virden Mowbray and David
H. Carruthers, passed away at Pinecrest
Manor, Lucknow, on Saturday March 12,
2016 at the age of 101. She was born in
Ripley on August 1, 1914 to the late Mary
and Robert F. Bell. Greatly missed by
children Marilyn Maclntyre of Lucknow,
Amelia (John) Murray of Clifford, Sharyn
(Alex) Thompson of Hamilton, Marion
Mowbray of Lucknow, Jerry (Joan)
Mowbray of Wingham and Alan Mowbray of
Port Elgin, son-in-law Don (Marilyn)
Bannerman of Kincardine, 22
grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and
10 great great grandchildren. Predeceased
by daughter Janet Bannerman, grandson
David Murray, great grandson Wade
Simmons, son-in-law Donald Maclntyre,
step -son John Mowbray, brother Robert
MacDonald and half sister Nellie (John)
Blue. Visitation was held from the
MACKENZIE & MCCREATH FUNERAL
HOME, Lucknow on Thursday March 17,
2016 from 6-9 PM. A Funeral Service was
conducted from the Knox Presbyterian
Church, Ripley on Friday March 18, 2016 at
2 PM with visitation one hour prior. Rev.
David Chung officiated. Spring interment
Ripley Cemetery. Donations to the Heart &
Stroke or Mama Hope were greatly
appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

RITCHIE, Margery Elizabeth "Betty"
- Of Lucknow, passed away at Pinecrest
Manor on March 11, 2016 at the age of 90.
She was the beloved wife of Harvey William
Ritchie who predeceased her in 1992. Betty
was born in Kinloss Township on July 28,
1925 to the late Margery (Harris) & James
Wesley Haines. Betty was a devoted
member of Trinity United Church, and a
valued member of the Zion community. She
was an avid quilter. Dear mother of Donna
& Gary Thompson of Red Deer, Alberta,
Elva & Lynn Hickey of Wingham, Bryan &
Diana Ritchie of Vegreville, Alberta and Mel
& Jayne Ritchie of RR3, Lucknow.
Grandmother of Amy (Joel), Erin (Brad),
Krista (Tom), Shawn (Amanda), and Caleb
(Erin). Missed by her great-grandchildren
Colton and Nykole. Predeceased by her
sisters Elva Wylie and Edna McLean.
Visitation was held at MacKENZIE &
McCREATH FUNERAL HOME, Lucknow
on March 14, 2016 from 7 - 9 PM, and on
March 15 from 10:30 AM until the time of
the funeral service at 11:30 AM. Pastor
Brian Hymers officiated and Ruth Alton was
organist. Special music by the Trinity United
Choir. Pallbearers were: Shawn Ritchie,
Tom Fry, Jim Ritchie, Kevin Wylie, Marvin
McLean and Larry Henderson. Honorary
pallbearers included her friends Evelyn
Hackett, Ruth Alton, Bell Hackett, and
Gertie Henderson. Granddaughters Krista
Fry, Amanda Ritchie and Amy Thompson
acted as flowerbearers. Donations to the
National Sarcoidosis Organization or Trinity
United Church were appreciated as
expressions of sympathy. Memorial
