window.
Thanks to all the participating
businesses who are featuring
the folks who have Down's Syn-
drome. Their 'Lots of socks' are
promoting World Down Syn-
drome day on March 21st
- Monday.
Some of the Logtenberg fam-
ily got together last Monday to
celebrate Grandpa Derk's birth-
day and some of the grandkids
birthdays too at home in
Goderich.
Tuesday last week, Diane
Clifford, Heather Finnie and
Fran Farrell attended the
Ontario Volunteer Service
Award Ceremony held in Strat-
ford, receiving their 25 and 20
year pins for volunteering with
Purple Grove Community and
Women's Institute. Heather
also received a five-year pin for
her work with the Air Cadets.
On the trip down between Wal-
ton and Monkton, they also saw
another huge flock of trum-
peter swans resting on their
migration route.
A total of 35 kids attended the
Horticulture meeting on
Wednesday at the complex in
Ripley and made seed bombs
for the garden this year and Gar-
den Bingo. Thanks to the Con-
venors Tryntje Eisen, Sandra
MacDonald, and Heather New-
man and to Susan Nichols who
donated the clay for the bombs.
Everyone had a great time -
even the older kids.
On Thursday, Geoff, Sandra,
Thomas and Patrick Farrell
hosted an open house of their
renovations and installation of
their Lely Robot milking system.
A great turnout came out to see
their new system and appreci-
ated seeing the cows and calves
and of course the treats were
excellent too!
Happy Birthday to Marilyn
Reid last week too. The Reid
family got together on Saturday
evening to celebrate their March
birthdays.
Congratulations to the Kin-
cardine Robotic Team with their
robot 781! They received FIRST
place at the Robotic competi-
tion in Cleveland, Ohio last
weekend.
Holyrood Butchers, Kintail
Flyers and Lucknow Lancers of
the 60's,70's and 80's held a
reunion hockey game in Luc -
know on Saturday evening. It
was hard to say who actually
won that game - it's amazing
how many of those "old" guys
still skate!
Great to see Ripley decked out
with all the hockey sweaters. Go
Wolves Go! There was lots of
hockey in Ripley last week with
end of season tournaments.
Congratulations to all the
coaches and players on another
great season and to the Kincar-
dine Bull Dogs on winning their
series against Walkerton Hawks
on Sunday.
The training workshops for
caregivers for the Rural Women's
Health Support Initiative have
been organized for Wed. June 1st
at the Social Room in Ripley and
