Notice of Open House
for Official Plan Review
The Township of Huron -Kinloss is in the process of preparing an update to the Official Plan
to guide the future of the Township to the year 2036. The Official Plan Review is scheduled to
be completed in 2016.
As part of the Official Plan Review, a comprehensive review in accordance with the Provincial
Policy Statement, 2014, has been completed to ensure that a 20 -year supply of land is
provided to accommodate projected growth. The comprehensive review recommends
modifying settlement area boundaries and land use designations affecting some properties
within the Township. There are no proposed changes to the Lakeshore Settlement Area
Boundary as a result of the comprehensive review.
Further detail on the proposed changes is available on the Township of Huron -Kinloss website
at http://huronkinloss.com/official-plan-review-2015.cfm or at the Township Office located at
21 Queen Street in Ripley.
You are invited to an open house to discuss the proposed Official Plan changes on:
March 28, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.

Any person may attend the Open House and/or make written or verbal representation either in
support or in opposition to the proposed Official Plan. If you wish to be notified of the adoption
of the proposed Official Plan, you must make a written request to Sonya Watson, Clerk.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written
submissions to the Township of Huron -Kinloss before the proposed Official Plan is adopted,
the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Council of the Township
of Huron -Kinloss to the Ontario Municipal Board.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written
submissions to the Township of Huron -Kinloss before the proposed Official Plan is adopted,
the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the
Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to
add the person or public body as a party.

NICHOLSON, Helen - beloved wife of
the late John Nicholson, formerly of
Lucknow, passed away at Braemar
Retirement Home, Wingham on Sunday
February 28, 2016 in her 92nd year. She
was born in West Wawanosh Township on
March 15, 1924 to the late Mary (Durnin)
and Colin McDonald. Dear Mother of Harold
(Lloya) Nicholson of Lucknow and Shirley
O'Malley (Doug Reinhardt) of Teeswater.
Also missed by grandchildren Chris
Montgomery, Julie (Jeff) Pyke and Debbie
(Jason) Wallace, great grandchildren
Jenna, Justin, Cole, Seth, Jameson &
Hayden and sister-in-law Sadie Irwin of
Wingham. Predeceased by grandson Greg
Montgomery, son-in-law Dennis O'Malley,
brothers Marvin, Charlie, Norman, Gordon,
Earl and Harvey McDonald and sisters
Verna Nicholson and Dorothy Miller. A
Funeral Service was held at MACKENZIE
& MCCREATH FUNERAL HOME,
Lucknow on Wednesday March 2, 2016 at
2 PM with Rev. Lynne Wilson officiating.
Spring interment Greenhill Cemetery,
Lucknow. Donations to the Braemar
Residents Council or the charity of your
own choice were greatly appreciated as

Obituaries
HUNTER, Allan Morley - After living an
extraordinary, full life, Al passed on
peacefully at his comfortable and love -filled
home at Applefest Lodge in Brighton,
Ontario on February 26, 2016. Al was a
Manitoba boy who grew deep roots and
made many friends in both Sudbury and the
Trenton/Belleville area, and indeed,
wherever he found himself. Al was born
June 6, 1922, in Goodlands, Manitoba
where he met the love of his life, Dorothy
Anne Bell. Then came W.W.II. Allan signed
up in February 1943 and served with the
4th Canadian Armoured Division in Europe
as a dispatch rider and driver/navigator for
Colonel Harry Griffith who became a good
and much respected friend. Allan and
Dorothy married in Lucknow, Ontario in
June, 1949 and raised their family there in
Lucknow, Vulcan Alberta, Sudbury,
Belleville and finally on the farm north of
Trenton where they settled in 1972.
Mechanic and GM dealership service
manager, farmer and friend, golfer and
family man, carpenter and craftsman,
master of both the pool table and the dance
floor, Allan was predeceased by his six
brothers and sisters and their spouses, by
his beloved wife Dorothy (1994) and his
oldest daughter Patricia (2004). Treasuring
memories of Dad are Doug & Celia,
Patricia's husband David, Kim & Irma,
Jesse & Carine, Angela & Mike, Allison &
Ron, and Andy & Ally. Treasured and loved
by his grandchildren Tammy (Will), Allison,
Kate (Brendan), Sophie (Aaron), Marc,
Rosanna, Alex, Andra, Dani, Joel, Zach and
Henry, Allan was also great -grandpa to
Liam, Brody, Jillian, Paisley, Callum and
Rowan. A celebration of Al's life will be held
at the Johnstown Church, 940 Bonisteel
Road, Quinte West (Trenton) on Saturday,
June 4, 2-4 pm. Cremation arrangements
have been entrusted to the John R. Bush
Funeral Home, Belleville. Interment of Al's
ashes will take place in Lucknow at a later
date. In honour of Allan, donations can be
made to the Roy Bonisteel Tribute Garden
(www.oldchurchtheatre.ca/tribute garden)
or the Belleville General Hospital
Foundation.
