But Barker noted the organization is facing demands for more services as the incidence of dementia in its various forms grows. "We are part of the prov- ince's Aging At Home strat- egy - designed to keep peo- ple living at home as independently as possible for as long as possible," Barker said in a news release. "However we are the only member of the service team that is not fully funded." Only 60 per cent of the society's annual budget is funded by government or other outside sources. The Society depends on the gen- erosity of the Grey -Bruce community for the balance of its funding. Currently there are 3,546 people in Grey - Bruce with a diagnosis of dementia. However, studies show that only about one third of those experiencing memory loss or cognitive impairment seek a diagnosis. "That means that the true number of those affected could exceed 10,000," Barker said. "Our current client base exceeds 1,000, and we know that that number is only going to keep grow- ing as increased aware- ness and earlier diagnosis increase," she said. Barker said it is impor- tant to remember that money donated to the Alz- heimer Society of Grey - Bruce stays in the Grey - Bruce community to provide local services. Donations can be made in person or by mail at the Alzheimer Society of Grey -Bruce office at 753 2nd Ave. E. Owen Sound ON N4K 2G9. LU KNOW 519.529-7 to Aces The Lucknow Legends came back from a 2-0 deficit against the Stratford Aces going into the third only to lose the SOWHL semi finals 3-2. The Feb. 27 game started fast with the first ending in a nil tie. In the second, the Aces would score their first about halfway through the period off a three -on -one. Their second goal would come lit- tle over two minutes later on the power play. The Aces' centre got the puck off a clean draw in the offensive zone to her winger who had a clean shot. With time dying down in the second Gina Murray of the Legends would score a power play marker of her own on a four -on -three. Assists would go to Julie Hamilton and Dru Austin. In the third Lucknow would tie it up at the 7:20 mark. Katie Feagan put in a great effort carrying it into the Aces' zone alone. She dipped back at the hash marks to make her way into the slot and got a dagger passed the netminder. Assists would go to Dru Austin for her second of the game. The tie would have put them in the finals, how- ever they got into penalty troubles (on some ques- tionable calls) that Strat- ford would capitalize on it. With less than four min- utes in regulation, Strat- ford would score off a bad bounce from a rebound in close to Legends' keeper Terry Allen. • rOlERICH 515) 241 1 www. rnowieliriks.ra nwmo NUCLEAR WASTE SOCIETE DE GESTION MANAGEMENT DES DECHETS ORGANIZATION NUCLEAIRES Wednesday, March 9, 2016 • Lucknow Sentinel 3 SUDOKU THIS WEEK'S PUZZLE SPONSORED BY Mitchell Twolan, Broker of Record Lake Range Realty Ltd.
