Message from Mike Rencheck, President & CEO Bruce Power
I would like to take this opportu-
nity to follow up from the July 18
announcement regarding my
appointment as President and CEO
of Bruce Power, starling onAug. 15.
Firstly, it is an honour and a
privilege to have the opportunity
to be part of a respected organiza-
tion and to work with the people
of Bruce Power. The organization
has achieved amazing progress
since the company's creation and
has enabled a very bright future.
Throughout my career, I have
worked closely with many in
Canada's nuclear industry and
Bruce Power. As the new Presi-
dent and CEO, I look forward to
building on this success and
working with the strong team of
employees to continue to deliver
on Bruce Power's role in Ontar-
io's Long -Term Energy Plan.
I know how important Bruce
Power is to the province, Canada's
nuclear industry, and surrounding
communities in midwestern
Ontario. Being raised in a small
town and knowing the positive eco-
nomic impact nuclear facilities
have, I understand there will always
be a significant amount of interest
in the success of Bruce Power.
The company has established a
strong reputation in its host region
and also throughout the province.
This has been through open com-
munications, collaboration and a
commitment to corporate social
responsibility. We must continue
to build on this successful formula
as it has been a core value of mine
throughout my career.
We must also continue building
our reputation that, as an organi-
zation, Bruce Power is committed
to its Number 1 value of 'Safety
First,' while delivering low-cost,
clean and reliable electricity to
Ontario families and businesses.
This trust can never be compro-
mised, and is fundamental to
ensuring our long-term success.
Over the coming weeks, my
wife Carol and I look forward to
moving to the Bruce region and
settling into the community. It is
a beautiful area and a vibrant
community. We are looking for-
ward to this new role with the
Bruce Power Team and being a
part of the community. This is
something very important to
Carol and me.
I want to thank you for the
many welcoming comments since
this was announced. In the com-
ing months, Carol and I look for-
ward to meeting as many people
as possible and ensuring Bruce
Power continues to play a positive
role locally and throughout
Ontario for many years to come.
Best regards,
Mike Rencheck
