Lucknow Wine and Paint Night both
a social and artistic experience
Lucknow recently had its first Wine
and Paint Night at Mayfair Training.
Hosted on June 8, 2016 by local Uni-
versity student, Ryanne Florence, the
first-time event was a successful one,
with four ladies in attendance.
They followed Ryanne Florence for
just over two hours to all paint the simi-
lar image of a floral branch.
No painting experience was required
and organizers said the beauty of the
event "comes from the social aspect
where everyone bonds over their paint-
ings, all while sipping beverages."
The next Wine and Paint Night event
at Mayfair Training (638 Campbell
Street) will take place on August 10
from 6:30-9 p.m., but there are likely
more wine and paint nights to be
booked in July in another location.

Lucknow Central Living Library
introduces students to different ways of life
CONTINUED FROM > PAGE 1
Livingston said her daughter
Kloe has a rare genetic disorder
called Prader Willi Syndrome and
she talked to the students not only
about her daughter's disability
but about disabilities in general.
"We thought this is a great
opportunity to inform her peers
not just of [Kloe's] disability and
her syndrome but as well we
touched on people in general
with disabilities whether that be
intellectual or physical," she said.
Livingston said it wasn't only
the students who gained some-
thing through the experience,
but she learned how eager and
willing the children are to know
more about others.
"The kids are looking back at
you for answers and they are will-
ing to learn ... and that's

something I learned from it. There
they are young but still willing to
do what they can," she said.
She found the experience so
rewarding she hopes the school
will operate a Living Library for
adults.
"It's not just a good event for
kids," she said. "it would be great
for adults, and I'm suggesting
they open this up in the evening
for adults to attend and make it a
fundraiser for the school and
inform adults about these kinds of
topics and give them a chance to
become more aware and knowl-
edge about so many possibilities."
Students from Ripley -Huron
Community School also partici-
pated in the event.
