LUCKNOW NEWS
Lucknow Sepoy Ranees looking forward to Queen's Tea in June
Ruth Dobrensky
The Lucknow Sepoy Ranees
met recently for their monthly
meeting at Samuel's in Safford.
We had a delicious lunch in a
lovely atmosphere with great ser-
vice. The discussion around the
table was mainly about our
upcoming tea to celebrate
Queen Elizabeth's 90th birthday.
The Ranees were also
informed that we have heard
from Buckingham Palace with
thanks from the Queen for our
card and invitation to the tea.
Unfortunately, she is not going
to be able to attend, but, we
have heard from several groups
and it looks like we'll have a
good turnout for the event.
Now all we need is a nice day.
So, if you're around town on
June 16 and you see a lot of
ladies in red hats heading for
the town hall, you'll know why.
This past Sunday was the 152nd
anniversary and last service at
Chalmers Presbyterian Church in
Whitechurch. It was a happy and
sad occasion with many old
friends and new out to support the
Whitechurch congregation.
Kinlough Presbyterian Church
also celebrated its anniversary this
past Sunday. Congratulations.
I see the Huron -Kinloss Ice
Cream Trail is open for another
season. I've been on it twice
now, and have two t -shirts to
prove it. It's a lot of fun, just
don't attempt to eat ice cream at
every stop or you might not
make it through the day. This
year's theme is local flavours, so
perhaps you can buy some fresh
local fruits and vegetables to eat
or take home with you along
with the ice cream. I took my
nephew Nick on the trail last
summer and we made a day of
it, stopping for lunch, go-cart
riding, and of course, ice cream.
