The January meeting of
the Purple Grove Women's
Institute was held at the
home of Marilyn Reid (after
a day's weather delay!).
The meeting started with a
yummy pot luck lunch. Presi-
dent Janet Rhody opened the
meeting. The Roll Call' Bring a
number for the program' was
well received. There were lots of
laughs and interesting facts
revealed. It was also noted that
the Snowmen Craft that we
made in December were
reported to have an attitude.
Mary Anne Kukoly read the
Scripture. Birthday lady Fran
entertained us with some jokes.
Secretary Fran Farrell read a
card and enclosure from The
Kincardine Independent and a
note from Troy Patterson of the
Kincardine News and Lucknow
Sentinel. Also discussed was
information from FWIO about
current plans. Nominations for
the Ontario Volunteer Award
were discussed and will be
submitted. MaryAnne reported
on the successful Christmas
Concert at the Community
Centre, and thanked every-
one for their help.
And then the real fun
began. All present had con-
tributed to an auction to raise
funds for the Community
Centre. Our auctioneer Joyce
Farrell did her famous imita-
tion of a 'real' auctioneer.
We all went home with
some more items we really
couldn't live without.
