prepare animals for new homes
Pet Rescue began in 1998,
when they learned that dogs
were euthanized, if they
remained unclaimed after
they served their stray hold
time.
They take in the unclaimed
dogs and cats from the vet
pounds from Ripley to Goderich
to Walkerton to Durham.
The animals are vetted and
then put in to foster homes.
They are evaluated to see what
suits them best. Many of the
dogs are fostered with dogs, cats
or kids.
Their needs are posted in
their biographies to ensure the
best match for the dog and the
adopters. They have a few
bonded pairs of dogs looking for
homes together.
Oscar and Prissy are four-
year-old chihuahuas.
Oscar has been abused and is
afraid of people touching him
without his invitation.
They would be best in a quiet
home, with no kids, and few
visitors.
Maggie and Pria are shihtzus.
They were from a breeder that
decided to retire them.

Dogs like Maya are available to new homes from Lucknow Pet Rescue.
They had no vetting and each
needed a dental, lumpectomy,
spay, vaccines, and chip.
Pria also had a kidney stones
removed.
They are very good with the
foster homes cats.
Maya is one of several new
arrivals.
She is about nine months old
and was impounded for being at
large.
When she was spayed it was
discovered she was pregnant.
She is doing well thankfully
and is very well behaved.
There are over 20 other dogs
available for adoption.
Ranging from small to large,
young to adult.
An adoption fee applies.

pleted online at www.adopta-

Lucknow Midget Rep come away from
Arthur tourney with good showing
Denise Angst
Contributor
The Midget Rep had a great
day Nov. 28 in Arthur and came
away with two wins and a loss to
end the day as Runner Ups.
The Team played the first
game vs. Shelburne. The whole
team played awesome hockey
and came away with a 3-0 Win.
Two goals were scored by Clay
Smits assisted by Tyler Murray
and Lucas Angst and one by
Kirkland Murray assisted by
Spencer Henry. A great way to
start the day.
They went on to play the
second game vs. Arthur and
what a game it was. The Game
Time end showed a 2-2 tie on
the board. Goals were both
scored unassisted by Craig
Murray and Clay Smits. On
they went into a shoot out to
decide this tie game. The first
three Lucknow Shooters were
chosen and Craig Murray was
able to score, the game was
still tied and there was two
more shooters needed to
decide. Lucas Angst was able
to score and Lucknow came
away with the win in this very
exciting game.
Colton Metske played two
awesome games in net, he sure
was on fire for our team. He did
have to leave to go play with his
own team and Shane Westecott
hopped in to help the team out
as they went on to the A Final.
The boys faced Shelburne
again. Could they do it?
Almost! Another very exciting
great game of hockey was
played, Shane Westecott did
great in net and the team tried
their best. The final score was a
5-3 loss with goals scored by
Brad Murray unassisted, Clay
Smits unassisted and Tyler Mur-
ray assisted by Clay Smits.
Congratulations to the whole
team on a great played
tournament.
The boys will now go on to
play more regular season games.
