Huron OPP looking for
stolen Jeep and many
weapons near Brucefield
Police are looking for both a Jeep
that was stolen, and a number of fire-
arms in it at the time of the theft.
At 4 a.m. On Monday Aug. 22, 2016, a resi-
dent living on Centennial Road, south of
Brucefield, heard a vehicle leave his rural
property. He proceeded to check his vehi-
cles, as well as outbuilding and discov-
ered that one of their vehicles had been
stolen. Further investigation revealed that
his shed had been entered and a num-
ber of long guns and crossbows had been
taken. Other vehicles on the property had
been entered and rummaged through.
The Huron County OPP was contacted
and officers initiated an investigation.
Huron County OPP Crime Unit offic-
ers as well as West Region Foren-
sic Identification officers attended.
They are continuing their inves-
tigation into this theft.
The stolen vehicle was a grey 2008
Jeep Liberty with Ontario Licence plates
CAEW823 The stolen firearms include a
Browning BPS Shotgun 20 gauge, Mossberg
538 —12 gauge Shotgun, 22 Coey Shot-
gun, as well as an Excalibur Crossbow and
Horton 335 Crossbow. Anyone with infor-
mation on the crime should call police or
Crime Stoppers at 1 -800 -222 -TIPS (8477),
where there is a chance at a cash reward.

South Bruce OPP
OVER $10,000 IN DAMAGE
TO H -K TENNIS COURTS
Vandals have caused an estimated $10,000
in damage to tennis courts in Huron -Kinloss.
South Bruce OPP received a call just
after 8:30 a.m. on Thursday about
the damage at the tennis courts in
the 100 block of Boiler Beach Rd.
Police arrived and found a significant
amount of offensive graffiti applied to
the courts with white, red and black col-
ours, as well as a portion of the net burned,
South Bruce OPP said in a news release.
The OPP Forensic Identification Unit
and South Bruce OPP Crime Unit are
assisting in the investigation.

Theft Of Copper Wire
On Aug. 22, 2016 at 9:57 a.m., the
South Bruce OPP received a theft report
from a Hydro 1 site located in the 700
block of the Huron -Kinloss Town line.
Sometime between Aug. 18, 2016 at 2
p.m. and Aug. 22, 2016 at 7 a.m., the
site was forcibly entered and a quan-
tity of copper wire was taken.
The value of the stolen wire is esti-
mated to be more than $200.
The South Bruce OPP is requesting any-
one with information that can assist police

The Lucknow Squirts played their year-end tournament
in Benmiller Aug. 19-20, 2016. They lost a close game to
Colbourne on Friday night and were put in the B pool, where
they defeated Seaforth, Howick, and Atwood on Saturday to
