Lucknow participated in
Canadian history Aug. 20,
2016, when over 200 people
watched The Tragically Hip's
final concert of from the
local Legion branch.
The iconic Canadian rock
band played its final show
Saturday night in Kingston
concluding a series of con-
certs they performed over
the summer following news
that their frontman Gord
Downie was diagnosed with
terminal brain cancer.
Over 11.7 million people
watched the broadcast,
according to preliminary
audience stats from CBC.
The CBC aired it commer-
cial free and in the place of
Rio Olympics coverage,
which was heading into its
last day, to show Canada its
most acclaimed musicians
for the last time.
And Lucknow was there.
The local Royal Canadian
Legion branch erected a
large screen and a booming
sound system in its backyard
for the occasion. And one
