Corn roast takes spotlight at Point Clark Lighthouse Festival
Darryl Coote
Reporter
Hundreds of people
attended the two-day Point
Clark Lighthouse Festival in
the Township of Huron Kinloss
the weekend of Aug. 12-13 and
were treated to one of the sea-
son's most celebrated dishes
— corn on the cob.
From the Bruce -Huron
Produce Auction farmers,
the corn was definitely
the main attraction Satur-
day as people were con-
stantly lined up for the
roast.
In its 26th year, the
annual corn roast and car
showwas on Saturday from
4:30 pm to 7:30. For a nom-
inal fee, visitors were
treated to hamburgers, sal-
ads, dessert and, of course,
roasted corn on the cob.
There was also live music
sponsored by Studio C.
On Friday night, there
was the sunset dinner
from 6-10 pm that was
catered by Burke's Cater-
ing with wine supplied by
Constellation Wine and
beer from Cowbell
Brewery with cheese from
Pine River Cheese.
All events were in cele-
bration of area's iconic
Point Clark Lighthouse,
which guests of all events
were encouraged to tour.
