St. Joseph's Kingsbridge
Community on completed work
On July 26, MPP for
Huron Bruce, Lisa Thomp-
son stopped by the Kings-
bridge Centre (former St
Joseph's church) to for-
mally congratulate St.
Joseph's Kingbridge Com-
munity (SJKC) on the suc-
cessful completion of work
done with an $84,000 grant
from the Ontario Trillium
Foundation. Awarded in
November, the grant has
been used to install new
furnaces in the century -old
building, enabling year
round use of the facility.

Trillium Foundation. This is
the perfect project that will
generate a positive return on
investment for years to
come," Thompson said.
SJKC is a registered charity
with the goal of providing a
large multi -use facility for
the residents and visitors of
rural Southwestern Ontario.
With the installation of new
furnaces, the Kingsbridge
Centre can now be used year
round for celebrations,
meetings, community gath-
erings, performance oppor-
tunities, rural education,
and rental options.
"One of the benefits that
won't show up physically, is
that the project has given the
community a focus and a
goal," said Jim Van Osch,
chair of SJKC. "If you're
counting volunteer man
hours involved in putting
this all together, it's several
hundred hours."
This is a story of rural
revitalization, community
spirit, determination, and
intergenerational collabo-
ration, and SJKC is very
grateful as the impact of
this OTF grant cannot be
overstated.
SJKC has many events
currently planned for the
Kingsbridge Centre, with
new events being booked,
so be sure to keep checking
