On the hospital's $30 mil- lion budget on per cent doesn't even offset inflation. "But it does help us man- age some of those costs," said Rosebush during a March 23 hospital board meeting in Durham. "We still always have to find efficien- cies every year which means finding better use of staff and ways to reduce waste across the organization." The corporation will end this fiscal year with a bal- anced budget and likely a small surplus; the exact amount won't be known until the auditor completes his report. Plans are to submit a bal- anced budget for the 2016- 17 fiscal year as well. "We've been advised that nine hospitals across the South West Local Health Integration Network are going to finish this year in deficit and 20-30 hospitals across Ontario are going to be submitting deficit budg- ets for next year," said Rosebush, who is proud of the board's commitment to a balanced budget next year without cuts in service. The hospital network con- tinues to trim costs and still maintain services at all four sites. "Sustainability is our num- ber one goal," he said. On Saturday, April 2, 2016, The Tillsonburg Thunder beat the Wolves 4-3 at home in Ripley to take the series 4-1. It was a high scoring final, though the Wolves would be on the short side of that numeric. Tillsonburg notched a total 23 goals over the five games to Ripley's 15. Game 1 set a negative tone for the series as Tillsonburg won at home 7-1. Game 2 was Ripley's sole win of the series, with them taking the 'W' 6-3 in front of a home crowd. Game 3 would be a much closer contest requiring over- time to settle the matter, how- ever it would be the Wolves who would go down in the series with a 2-1 loss here. Game 4 had the writing on the wall for Ripley as they would fall even deeper behind Tillsonburg and they would do so by losing 7-4. Game 5 on Saturday at home would crown Tillson- burg the victors.
